For the love of God…

He will also be speaking in Chicago in May about the same topics:

May 9 & 10, 2007 at the University of Chicago Business School; located directly across the street from the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.

If anyone lives in Chicago this would be a prime opportunity to gather info and hopefully, speak with him directly.

Thanks for that Jim! This could be interesting.

Can anyone who lives in the US, seriously make it to one of these conferences? It would be really good to hear what he has to say about it.

It is always worth listening to anything he has to say.

Unrelated to the above topics but here is a video of Dr. Shippen speaking, in general, about Testosterone deficiencies, erectile dysfunction, and some drugs that cause this.

Why are all the links in this thread dead?

What did he say about the subject, and which treatments does he recommend?

I’m a patient of Shippen. He basically goes to clomid, then to TRT. After that I dunno.

He’s not using any additional treatments, not even an AI? How are you doing? Have you seen any improvement?

I’m finishing up a cycle of high dose TRT/HcG/L dopa. Absolutely zero improvement in any areas. I’m only guessing but I think he’ll suggest I go off TRT/HcG. I’m gonna do another round of labs, send them off to both docs and see if either have any ideas. Get the feeling I’m running out of options.

He definately does use AI’s.

He does, but with my last e2 he wasnt concerned. I don’t think e2 is an issue in my case. Obviously on TRT its higher. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to get to the lab Saturday. Hard to keep up with work/life/PFS symptoms as you all know.

Yeah it is. I’m always going over to the doctors my co-workers assume im a hypochondriac lol.

Shippin basically uses all the main hormonal drugs from what i read, Enden.

It is worrying that people are never on here talking about their full recoveries. But i guess if a lot of them weren’t on to complain there’s even less chance they’ll source out PH to talk about recovery.

Hey boston, do you know if he has had any success with PFS patients?

Both Shippen and Jacobs purport some success. Jacobs really didn’t go into percentages and keep in mind he didnt take his first PFS patient until November 2009. Jacobs is the eternal optimist though. I believe Shippen said about 25% he gets to “normal” and maybe 40% he can help “somewhat”. Just my opinion here, but I think those he gets to normal don’t suffer from whatever the underlying issue we all have here. I think maybe they had something non Fin related or were one of the people who get better naturally over time. For the moment the value of seeing a PFS doc is more for the greater good. I think it adds to the likelyhood of further research, which is really what our aim is at this point.
