I recently began to experience PFS (haven’t had the energy to make a big detailed introductory post but I will). I was very concerned and tried to make an appointment at the mayoclinic, but they don’t treat PFS there. Instead they referred me to two other doctors, either Dr. Goldstein in San Diego, or Dr. Rachel Rubin in Washington D.C. I looked up Dr. Rubin and found out that she did her fellowship with Goldstein, so I am sure their methods are very similar. Just a FYI for any east coast people seeking a doctor.
Dr Rubin is a great asset to our cause and recognises the harm that Finasteride does to people, and has publicly spoken about it. She is one of the good ones, I’ve had some exchanges with her on twitter.
HOWEVER, she does not have a cure for PFS. If she did, she would have published it or would be marketing it or would be telling other physicians how to administer it.
Yea I didn’t mean to imply that she had a cure. But a lot of people have seen improvements in their quality of life after seeing Goldstein, and I’m assuming that she uses the same methods.
I saw Mark Gordon in California telemedice all are massive waste of money and time…didn’t do shit for pfs.
They’re gonna give you some sort of hormone replacement (HCG/TRT/DHT Cream) or viagra/cialis. They can’t prescribe Proviron because it’s illegal in North America because of sheer stupidity. If you respond then great you’ll go back to normal.
Every single decent doctor will do the above. Give hormones if there’s an imbalance or prescribe viagra.
That’s about all they can do.
Which specialty did you try to make an appointment for at Mayo Clinic ? Was it endocrinology?
I told them I thought it would be appropriate to see a range of specialists including urology, endocrinology, neurology, and even any epigenetic experts if they had them.
