Dr. Pierre-Marc Bouloux - Endocrinologist in London, UK

Received this doctor’s info from a fellow sufferer who has seen him.

He told me the doctor is sympathetic to our cause and has 30-40 other patients in the same situation due to Finasteride use.

If you live in the UK, he may be helpful. Don’t know about his treatment options, though.

Has he really seen 30 or 40 guys?

I was given this info 2nd hand by a fellow sufferer who has seen him. This is what that user told me. I have no way to validate this information.

Surely not. But I might give him a try anyway, I am sure he will at least listen to the symptoms and do the testing that you want.

I thought it would be useful to pass on the prices for Bouloux:

‘An initial consultation is £280 and a follow up consultation is £180. The rates do not vary with time’

i have seen him, i am very happy with the results so far and i am now on trt.

Elaborate…

This guy sounds like the real deal as far as UK options go.

Irishguy - whom i have been in contact with -tells me he has 30-40 PFS patients and has been very helpful to him. Apparently he’s more open to treatment protocols that others around here wouldn’t be.

If things don’t work out for me I’ll be visiting this guy before the summer.

Can any UK guys chime in with their experience of Bouloux?

He does seem to have seen a lot of guys, though God knows where they are. I spoke to a guy from Scotland who said he crashed and was going to see him, then disappeared from the forum.

I’m not sure I 'm willing to travel and pay a fiver a minute to a guy just because he ‘believes’ in PFS, my local urologist did and gave me testogel but it made no difference. From what I hear he was trying to convince a sufferer SSRIs may have caused his problems, prescribed another guy anti-depressants, and his son takes it. None of this inspires much confidence.

Why the hell is it so hard to find a European doc completely against the use of this for cosmetic purposes?

If he holds a senior position within the endocrinology board here, as someone posted, I’d be hoping he was reporting this devastating problem to as many influential people as possible.

I don’t think he sounds very good to be honest. Has he really seen 50 PFS patients? I don’t think so. We would of definitely heard about at least 1 of them on this forum.

You might want to take a look at these:

Richard Ross - clearly knows a hell of a lot about hormones, and if he is understanding, could be a great guy to see. He is also on the NHS!

shef.ac.uk/medicine/staff/ross.html

Dr Gordon Skinner - one of the best thyroid doctors in the UK and he got a guy over on Meso RX feeling 100% with proper thyroid treatment

I emailed Richard Ross there asking if he had ever dealt with this stuff. He said no.

Dr Skinner seems good but probably doesn’t know much about us either.

Who does know about us in the UK? it’s not about ‘us’ we need to see good doctor like these and maybe they will become aware. Good luck finding a PFS expert in the UK mate.

Hi guys,

I’m wondering if you can help me. I’m looking to see an Endicrinologist in the United Kingdom that recognises and knows a bit about Post Finasteride Syndrome.

I saw on here that Professor Pierre-Marc Bouloux at The London Clinic is acknowledged as someone that people have been to regarding PFS. Has anyone on here visited him regarding it and if so how did you find it? What treatment did he advise and did you find it useful?

Also, has anybody visited any other Endocrinologists in the UK and found them particularly good and helpful with regards to PFS?

Any information or advice is hugely appreciated.

Swill

There is a good doctor in Sheffield i think. Can’t recall the name, you’ll have to look around the forum.

As for Bouloux. He’s a very nice guy. I spoke to him on the phone for over 30minutes and he was very open about finasteride etc. He doesn’t dismiss PFS, but isn’t anti-finasteride. His SON takes it. He has dealt with alot of people with probems (ironically) but told me it’s difficult to establish whether or not they are all the same or not. He spoke of arimidex for me.

I don’t think he’ll be putting you on any revolutionary treatments. I’d be more inclined to go see Dr Myhill (Scotland i think?) or someone else who is very open minded.
