Hi everyone, I am new.

I am Jeremy I took propecia for hairloss about 5-6 years ago and in that time I have done a great deal of research.

I experienced a complete loss of sex drive, E.D. and so on so forth, I discontinued use to alleviate partially the brain fog that developed under the influence of propecia. Odd thing is, my penis shrank about 2 inches and blood flow was semi-cut off.

I started going into the field of science for research to help me understand my hairlos and E.D.

I have discovered and tried a product from a doctor over in florida (U.S) and over the past 5 years Ive achieved almost a full gain in size (missing half an inch still) and partial gain in blood flow and functionality. Sex drive still hasn’t returned but I feel in a years time and with modification of my diet a bit I can achieve a full recovery.

I hope this helps you guys and your families. I know the road that propecia has led me down has resulted in severe depression, I have been suicidal at times even and I really don’t wish this type of hell for anyone. I found out about this board by listening to the youtube video about propecia.

Read up if you havent, the more you know about a problem the easier it is to fix. God I feel like G.I. Joe

Seen this website before… The guy is pretty crazy( as you can see from his webpage header…). If his treatment works for you, that’s great.

This guy spouts things such as fin users have “destroyed” their 5ar gene without any specific evidence at all. I just find this guy suspicious/bizarre.

Im very skiddish about trying to treat things with pharmaceuticals anymore, this guy actually offered a solution to me that made sense based on studies I did about propecia.

Just something I wanted to throw out there seeing as its been working for me

This “doctor” has been discussed on here in the past, and by members of the old yahoo group prior to the existence of this site.

From what I can recall, not a single person has had any long-term success from using any of his products. While he may have some interesting “theories”, you have to remember that his entire site and content is designed to sell you supplements. Furthermore, the site itself is quite unprofessional in terms of presentation and he lacks any relevant medical credentials to even make the pseudo-science claims he does (he has an Engineering degree, if that’s even true), which are written in a completely unprofessional, nonsense & sales-driven style.

This guy’s site has been discussed by many, many people on the Internet for years, and the overall consensus is he’s a snakeoil salesman offering cure-all solutions to people’s problems, through half-baked claims and products, based on complete gibberish. I also find it somewhat “interesting” that your first post on this forum is to push Dr. Lin’s products (in a very vague way except for leaving the URL), without having any history on this site… I will stop short of calling this a shill but it is certainly suspect.

Anyway, if people feel so inclined to waste their money on these types of products, they are more than welcome… but this forum is not meant to be a platform for commercial endorsements or spamming, so please respect that.

I think I would have titled my post as “THERE IS A CURE” instead of my original post being “Possible cure”

Do what you want I was only trying to help, the fact that I haven’t posted anything before doesn’t mean I am some “Snake oil” pusher and if you think otherwise youre sorely mistaken.

I am a Biochemistry student At Arizona State University, I gain no money from this. I was just trying to help from my experience with my schooling and with the use of these suppliments.

BTW.

I am on 6000 mg L-arginine

1500 mg of Fishoil

and The Via-Pal J package on his website.

And the ArgiNOx or whatever.

L-Arginine ===> Nitric Oxide + L-Lysine if I recall.

The science is there.

If you want a full explaination of the science behind this I will need awhile, I have spring break coming up and some tests and a term paper to write.

I did exactly what Dr. Lin told me with his supplement back in 2003-2004 and they initially helped, but after a few months the results tapered off…I wasn’t 100% recovered…maybe 50%…and that’s pushing it.

I’ve tried it all with those herbal suppelment, it’s not a long term solution, though they can help relieve some of the issues.

I agree with Mew, Dr. Lin is a snakeoil salesman

I guess not everything works for everyone. I guess it all depends on how long you used the drug and at what dosage.

I used propecia 2 times a day (1mg finasteride) for a year and then a 5mg finasteride (proscar) for a year and a half.

I will discontinue usage of his products for 3-6 months and see if any progess is slowed or functionality is decreased. I will continue taking L-arginine at high doses however.

I figure that his products are reasonably good because they help stimulate Nitric oxide synthase activity (and gene expression) by helping regain the function & gene expression of 5-a-reductase.

I figure you all have seen many articles, maybe you saw a posting on the journal of andrology about 5-a-reductase inhibitors and erectile function.

It basically uses research papers to back up the data that DHT stimulates gene expression of nitric oxide synthase, a key enzyme in triggering sexual excitation. (as a result of low DHT concentrations, lower amounts of nitric oxide synthase are needed so the body learns to make less of it the longer you take finasteride)

If not, and I wont post any links this time seeing as I did not read the posting guidelines.

Its some crazy interesting stuff.

As I described to a guy who PM’ed me, If you stress your body with excess testosterone and you have low levels of DHT ( I did anyhow) the testosterone concentration basically pushes your body to produce 5-a-reductase (side effects seem to be an increase in feminity due to conversion of Testosterone to estrogen as an undersired side effect).

I took Dr. Lin’s prodcts for a year with no result, the only result I saw was an increase in blood flow and size, no functionality. After about a year i began to get function back, ever so slowly.

MY THEORY is: if you have taken finasteride for awhile your gene expression of the vital enzymes which control catalysis of androgens and neurotransmitters have been drastically reduced, I was using these products because they seemed like a good way to apply the opposite stresser and produce results.

The reason I believe this is I tried Viagra (A PDE5 inhibitor) to try to treat my E.D. a few years back. It didnt work, which makes me believe that the amount of Nitric oxide synthase was severely too low to trigger enough cGMP to potentiate vasodialation due to inhibition of the enzyme which degrades the 2nd messenger resulting from Nitric oxide stimulation.
(Nitric oxide activates guanylate cyclase which makes cGMP causing vaso dialation in the penis)

It took me 3 years or so to get where I was from the first day I started taking finasteride to the last day. I wasn’t about to think that there was a quick fix to regain function. As I also said to the person PMing me, it was a quick fix for hairloss that got me into this mess, itd be stupid to look for a quick fix to get me out of it.

I am still working to compile a breakdown of all the research that has led me to believe that these products can be benefitial, please bare with me, my research lab ended this week, after I prepare the report I will organize it and post it in a .doc form.

Two things I’m interested in when you file your report; which of his ingredients specifically stimulate the 5ar2 enzyme - as I have googled something which does this myself to no avail and see nothing in his products which specifically have the ability to do so - and also - do you beleive it is safe to take his products considering they each contain saw palmetto which will further DISABLE the enzyme - both 5ar1 and 5ar2, based on evidence on this site?

Thats fine, Ill mail my thing to Mew once Im done and he can post it where ever if he feels its of posting value.

Still going over breakdown if different side effects. And then Ill go over possible treatments.

Hopefully this will act as a consolidated guide for people who are thinking about using finasteride/dutasteride or people who have already suffered consequence of taking these drugs.

Anyone have a link to any studies on Secondary hypogonadism caused by finasteride?

The chinese think differently. For example, they don’t start writing an introduction, include support for the thesis, and then a conclusion tying it all together. They write a beginning, take you on a journey, and then an write an end that may be unrelated.

The Chinese though process is so alien to westerners that it’s almost not comprehendible.
