Don't Use Coptis

I received a message from musulman, going through the threads it looks like a few of you may have used followed Coptis and Chinese Bitters for a liver cleanse. He wanted me to let everyone know that he had positive effects using Chinese Bitters to cleanse the liver but taking Coptis has set him back.

If you’re still taking that please stop. Musulman, wanted me to warn people on this site to not use Coptis and that Coptis contains Skullcaps which has the same effects as 5ar inhibitors.

So if anyone is doing a liver cleanse please don’t use coptis.

why he did’t posted by himself ?

I think he’s banned.

I was one of the people taking Chinese Bitters and Coptis. I found the combo had an estrogenic effect so I stopped. I wasn’t really sure which one (if any) caused my problems. If I had to guess I thought it was the bitters. I spoke to a popular internet vendor of this stuff who operates in my area and I found her to be very knowledgeable, but even she admits her concoctions [and they really are concoctions–she’s got a makeshift lab] are designed for women.

Anyway thanks for the info. Coincidentally, I will be restarting the Chinese Bitters and report back.

Visionquest: are you referring to Julia at Sensible Health ?

All herbalism is concoction; and, there is nothing strictly speaking wrong with concoctions or “combination of various ingredients, usually herbs, spices, condiments, powdery substances or minerals, mixed up together.” You are using that word a little too metaphorically - sorry to be such a stickler.

I do agree that people should steer clear of the coptis. Chinese Bitters is a brilliant “concoction,” on the other hand

Yes I met Julia (a chemist) and her daughter Rebecca.

Oh and I’m not knocking her “combination of various ingredients, usually herbs, spices, condiments, powdery substances or minerals, mixed up together” at all.

I’m using them and I believe they have value.

Can anyone recommend a good liver cleanse? I agree we have some connection to liver - fin raises estrogen and the liver helps rid our bodies of excess estrogen. I’d like to lower my estrogen level naturally rather than through pills. Have to think if we cleanse the liver it could help in this regard. However, mnay liver cleanses contain milk thistle which we should stay away from. Chineses bitters I have heard good and bad.

Has anyone had success and with which products. Thanks

whatever you do, don’t take rosemary herb for a liver cleanse… i’m also trying to find something for a liver cleasnse, but it seems hard to come by as the random herbs, there’s no telling the effect it will have on us…

before you do anything, my suggestion is to do a google search for the herb you want to take + estrogen/nitric oxide… if you see it has a negative effect on either i would avoid it as ive had bad effects on them
