This conversation inspired me to ask

Marriage in trouble

Hi y’all. I’m another woman supporting a man who’s gone off of Propecia and still not feeling right. It would be nice if there was a subgroup for wives/girlfriends. My partner doesn’t even like reading on this site because he freaks out everytime he does. He was on Propecia for about 2 years and went off in March '09. The sexual side effects improved, but now he deals with headaches, irritability, moodiness, and general malaise, and his libido is still low. We’ve been together for 2.5 year…

I can’t help but feel that we should help / embrace partners female and male looking for help support and answers to what is happening to their loved one .

If their isn’t already somewhere for these partners Could we create a space as this would possibly give us and people looking for support a further insight into what is common in the way of side effects and what to possibly expect.
We all need some form of understanding and support hence we are here lets draw from any information these people bring to us and the chances are the victims will join the forum if the partner informs them of this site.
We Could make the site appealing to partners / advertise the site for partners of pfs sufferers.
It’s a win win situation for everyone and Could help save some relationships / marriages

This idea was considered carefully, but we believe it would mainly be an empty category, judging by the low number of partners and family members who have posted in the past. This would also add complications to registration.

If there ever appears to be a need for such a category, I don’t think the admin are vehemently opposed to it.

I think there absolutely needs to be a section for loved ones of PFS victims (not just partners). So many people have died because of finasteride, so many relationships have been destroyed, so many careers lost… The families and loved ones of PFS suffers are victims too and they too need an online forum where they can find support and understanding. Even if there are two people who ever use such a section, it will be a worthwhile project.

A section for loved ones is a necessity in my mind as being someone myself that has had to explain my situation to my partner I can certainly imagine that a section like this would be of great comfort and benefit to her .

Totaly agree with this. I will not imagine where i would be today without my wife, she was and is absolut fantastic in this terrible situation for us. Very very important to have this support.

Thankyou for supporting this idea I too would of been lost without the support I have from my misses she too has been Amazing
I have ankylosing spondylitis which cripples me overnight every night as my misses has to help me get dressed in the morning some mornings so that I can be ready to leave for work well after my morning breakfast of upto six ibuprofen.
Without her support I would be dead in the water.
