Does living in abstinence for a short time about 4 weeks help ?

Hi my questions to you guys is , did you feel better when you haven’t masturbate for about a week or longer with your problems or did the problem become worse ?

I made the experience that I haven’t masturbate for about 3 days and that after that time I masturbate it was not very good but then I waited about one day again I had a hard one like 75 % …I don’t know either it is because of that or it was so because I made a long walk on a sunny day , so that would speak for vitamin D reasons. Are here some guys who really recovered because of abstinence and walking or running that would be my question. the other question is that I made the experience that real sunlight is 10.000times better than vitamin D but I still take it as a supplement. By the way in that time I walked I had about 4 spontanious erections it was like the feeling is there again but after that day it was more rainy and it kind of went away …
So I’m sure there must be a cure … We are not really impotent there is a lack of something we need

Generally speaking, for the vast majority of post-Fin sufferers abstinence makes no difference other than perhaps providing more ejaculate.

Instead, after Finasteride many find their libido/sex drive is completely gone and so is the urge to masturbate. Whereas most guys used to get off every 1-3 days, now they can go for weeks without thinking about sex or having any urges to masturbate. That’s not normal and abstinence as a result, has not changed anything.

You can believe whatever you want, but the proof is all around you that it’s not as simple as that. If we had “the cure” we wouldn’t be here, that’s for sure. Same goes for believing impotence cannot result from usage of an androgen deprivation drug which lists impotence as a side effect… are you kidding us?

I think you need to give your head a shake and wake up to reality, especially since Swedish Medical Agency and UK MHRA now list persistent ED after quitting Finasteride as a side effect:

Ok , well I’m sorry when I haven’t claimed my point of view clear enough , I just mean that there is something which fucked our lives up …but that I BELIEVE/ HOPE (maybe I’m too optimistic at some times but I also suffer now 1,5 years so there are dark and sometimes bright moments ) that there will be a cure … but I know what you mean …I don’t want to talk shit to you guys …it is just something which gives me hope… so I’m very sorry… I’m really happy (under this circumstances ) that I can share feelings via internet and talk to people who know my problems. But let’s delete this statement about impotence and please answer the real question I’ve asked ,except Mew who has stated his opinion …are there people who have maybe slight improvements by living in abstinence or vice versa ,maybe people who still have libido/sex drive ?

Yes, Finasteride.

Yes, and I’m not trying to depress you, just being realistic. Its good to be optimistic, of course – and I’m not suggesting otherwise.

Generally speaking, abstaining from masturbation or sex has not brought back MY libido, or anyone else that I’m aware of who is suffering from this condition.

It might help slightly with a bit of buildup in ejaculate and maybe a slight increase in whatever libido you may have left, but it has not brought anyone’s libido back to 100% pre-Finasteride levels to my knowledge.

If it were that easy, all of us would be cured and this site wouldn’t need to exist. I think that’s the bottom line answer to your question.

what I noticed is the people who have negative thoughts are the guys in the worst shape here,I believe half this problem is mental.

Unfortunately thoughts have no effect on penile shrinkage or muscle atrophy, decreased ejaculate volume, gynecomastia, muscle twitches, loss of morning, nocturnal, spontaneous erections and various other physical manifestations of hypogonadism and decimated hormonal profiles. Looking for other scapegoats for issues from Finasteride when the drug itself is listed to cause much of what we experience, is a futile excercise.

Actually Im sure you are aware that there have been studies which show people who have a positive outlook heal much faster then the negative thinkers,If you are thinking negativly your body is producing to much cortisol.

I’m not denying that positive thought processes are NOT beneficial to our situation in terms of overall quality of life, mood and outlook.

What I’m saying is: scientifically speaking, no matter how much one might “wish” something to happen, “positive thought” is not going to reverse penile tissue fibrosis (androgens do), reverse male breast development, or other physical changes the drug has caused. You can sit there all day and hope for your hair to stop falling out too, but it’s not going to make any difference.
