Does clomiphene work better on people who have been living with PFS longer?

Recently the doc started me on clomiphene and I took my third dose today. I have yet to feel any different, which makes me wonder if it is working because a lot of guys say they get morning wood shortly after they start taking it. Is it one of those easy come, easy go kind of drugs where people who get results from it quickly also lose benefits quickly and those who take longer to show results tend to keep results for longer? Or does the fact that I don’t feel different yet mean it’s probably not going to work?

I have been living with PFS for about four and a half years but I only recently found that it’s an actual condition and not just a set of psychosomatic symptoms like I initially suspected.

Clomid did nothing at all to help me. However, I’m a hyper excreter so my serum testorsterone remained the same and my urine testosterone was way above range.

Not in my experience and generally speaking more testosterone isn’t the answer anyway. The user Dury alledgedly and according to his posts “recovered” via clomid use but as I recall his corse of clomid wasn’t too far after noticing his PFS symptoms and discontinuing Fin. We’ve just scratched the surface of PFS research but if there is any validity at all to Awor’s theory and the early results of the Italian study this method of treatment I think is debateable at best.

This whole disease is just so confusing. Some places I hear that clomiphene helps, others say that it’s best to use tomoxifen or arimedex. I’m going back to the endo in late May and when my testosterone is still low my doc is just going to have to go another route. When all possible routes are exhausted hopefully he will realize that something much more sinister is going on.

The thing that really confuses me is that…why dont the majority of doctors dont pay attention to us?? SERIOUSLY…they are suppose to help others…i had to go thru at least 18 different doctors…till i finally found one that was wanting to take me seriously…this is ABSURD! i still cannot believe how i am just literally throwing the best years of my life away…all my childhood wanting to become an adult…and now this. seriously, i simply cannot understand how i got myself into this.

Yea man it sucks royally. I’ve already been to three doctors (Uro, GP and now an Endo) and I seem to have made very little progress. The clomiphene the endo prescribed offers me vague hope but it seems like a shot in the dark at best. To his credit he doesn’t completely dismiss my assertion that finasteride has caused my symptoms, but something tells me he’s just the first in a long line of endocrinologists I’ll be having to see.

Don’t blame yourself for your condition man. It is not our fault that this has happened. We were both led to believe by the pharmaceutical companies that these sides would subside with cessation, but that is clearly not the case. All we can do is participate in as many studies as we can, push for media awareness and try our best to look to the future. And hopefully the future will be here sooner rather than later.

look into …orthomolecular medicine…they are the only ones that can help you!!!
