Does 1 beer a day keep the doctor away?

Okay, I’m a beer fan. I like beer for the taste (not necessarily to get drunk). Is it safe/recommended for me to drink 1 beer a day while recovering from fin? This might sound crazy, but there actually are significant health benefits from low amounts of beer (1 per day for woman and 2 for men) according to several scientific studies: essortment.com/all/beerhealthbene_rryq.htm

What do you all think?

Alcohol is alcohol and is not healthy regardless of what you hear or read. It kills every cell it comes into contact with. Not to mention beer is HIGHLY estrogenic and stresses the liver. People love to hear good news about their bad habits. Fact is, it’s all myths and wives tales. Alcohol is NOT healthy.

I second CD’s opinion. Alcohol has not been healthy for me anytime I’ve had it since fin. I too like the taste of beer and wine with meals. But your liver secretes enzymes to break it down, and we took an enzyme blocker with fin, which has upset the natural balance in the bodies.

It’s a good to speed up damage to liver, that’s about it.

Maybe this will make you rethink drinking a beer or two a day. My best friends dad used to drink about 3 beers every day for many years. I think he did it for 20 some years. He was still a very thin healthy looking guy.

He developed cirrohosis of the liver a little more than a year ago and was dead within a year.
