i don’t know what acth is exactlydo some googling about acth to understand better…i did .
(something related to adrenals)…

my doc said me to do the bloodtests written above,i did them and he said that acth result is not good than he prescribed me SYNACTHEN medicine saying me to take 1 dose per week for 6 weeks .NOT FOR LIFE !!! he said that from the 2 or 3 injection i’ ll fell better and the body ‘ll correct by itself the problems coming from this cause and i could resolve everything just with this drug(i hope).
if it’ s not enought to resolve my problems,he 'll help me more with something different… yestarday was the 1 dose and i felt it…really! … doc said that this drug boosts ipophisys ( i dn’t know the spelling of this word) and corrects my imbalance…hoping he 's right…
but it’s not for life, just 6 injection …

I had the Synacthen test back in August 2007, it is a synthetic verson of ACTH injected as a test to see if the body responds by producing enough Cortisol and the Adrenal glands are working OK. As far I am aware it is not a cure for anything.
I was told I responded OK to the test, however I continue with the same problems.
I also had the Saliva tests for the Adrenals which showed I produced far too much cortisol early in the morning and very little through the day. It also shows very high Androstnedione but low Testosterone. This is contributing to my problem of muscle wasting to the body.

did u use SYNACTHEN med for many times?..or just did the test?

I don’t know, doc said me to try it,i do… i’ll let u know if it can cure something … for now i’ve seen improvements in just 1 day …
and if from ur saliva u saw that,than problems could be related to drenals.

…and everybody on this forum has been told to be fine and ok,but i can see nobody is,so for sure u are not,and probably ur adrenals too.

i don’t know i just try it and see what happen,i’ve nothing to loose.

It was just injected with Synacthen for the test. I did’nt know you could take it like a medication.
I look forward to hearing how you get on.

I’m a stupid…after 3 years ,tonight I remember that I have a testosterone test done before propecia…it is just about total testosterone,FT3,FT4,not about free testosterone etc …do you think it could be useful to understand?..
tom I’ll search for it at my mum’s house and write all my hormone’s profile.

androstenedione 3,35 ng/ml RANGE 0,7-2,5

Italy, this test is for Androstenedione (precursor to Testosterone), not Aldosterone (since you state it’s an Aldosterone test).

I understand it,but I have androstenedione out of range .
When I wrote above my results I was wrong about writing the androstenedione’s range…
I have ANDROSTENEDIONE 3,35 and the range is 0,7-2,5

today was my 3rd injection and I can say again for sure that I had strong fucking erections (I say STRONG )and more libido…
in these 2 weeks things are better,but still have little/not spontaneous erections…so for me, I can say that adrenals can really be a problem to fix… I’ll post more.

I have very high Androstenedione as well 557 (151-350 pg/ml) but low Testosterone 31 (50-80 pg/ml). As Mew mentioned there must be something wrong with the enzyme that converts Androstenedione to Testoterone, that is 17B-HSD.

it’s 2weeks waiting for my doc calling me back…he said me thet he 's looking and asking for some other doc that have the same usa suffers…so today he called me.

He gave me CIPRALEX (SSRI) saying that other docs used it with fina suffers and it worked well…he said me that fina by "moving"hormones fucked up neurotrasmission too,and using this drug will help me to restore the situation.

I ve read that SSRI are not good (also for sexual function) ,so guys what do u think?..onestly I’m a little afraid to try it ,but doc said me that other docs used it with success (in fina suffers).

Sorry but your doctor seems to be a lunatic. Drugs from this family are killing sex drive. Even people who have just a little in common with medicine or visit their doctors very rarely know that.

Noooo! Don’t take SSRI’s please. This will fuck you up. The neurotransmitters that you need to recover the most are Gaba and Dopamine. SSRI’s restore Serotonin, wich you give you more sexual side effects. Discuss with your doctor the possibility of taking Wellbutrin - antidepressant that acts on Dopamine.

There are other alternatives: Aderral (To treat ADD, but used as a treatment of depression in some cases - acts on dopamine too). Ritalin, or as a last resource Levodopa (dompamine precursor). Talk to your doctor that higher dopamine will increase your sex desire, but higher serotonin (SSRI) will definetely not.

Question: How’s your thyroid homones and Prolactin?

are u all sure?..cause he said that another doc did the same to treat propecia suffer…i won t take it…but how can i say to him,he s the only one helping me now…

I am sure you can check this drug, because I know there is only a little (if none…!) drugs on the market that can actually do as much harm to men as finasteride or dutasteride.

The thing that I know (so my mother or a grandmother knows) drugs from this family are riping out sex drive.
