Do you take all dietary info with a grain of salt?

I’ve been trying to really focus on the effects of diet lately. I’ve hit a pretty good patch over these last few weeks, I’m not sure what is happening physically and mentally, and it all seems up and down. Some days are going really well, and some mentally I’m just right back to an emotionally numb and depressing time.

Well, I’ve been trying to regulate my diet, and so much of the information out there seems inconsistent.

For example, I thought DIM was an anti-androgen treatment some people tried. I thought the broccoli treatment was like a hairloss protocol from back in my worrying about hairloss days. However, some people try a broccoli treatment, as i’ve seen on some forums here, to feel better from pfs sides.

I also remember beta sitosterol as something people were recommending for hairloss. A capsule of saw palmetto extract had like 160 mg of beta sitosterol in it. However, an avocado, according to livestrong has about the same amount of beta sis. Olive oil is apparently high in it as well. But i’ve never heard of anyone preventing hairloss or getting pfs through only eating olive oil and avocado. I also don’t hear anyone on this site or PH talking about avoiding either one. Should we be?

There is also a long list of other things like lycopene and l-lysine that some sites say inhibits DHT.

It can all be very confusing and frustrating. Do we try to follow it all and just end up eating meat and fruit, or do we just ignore it? Very stressed about this.
