Looking through stories of those who crashed, ie recovered or stayed the same briefly then got worse, it seems most had fog, ed, low libido, moodiness etc - all symptoms of excess estrogen. Is it that when we quit our pituitary can’t distibguish between this excess of estrogen and lowered testosterone and thus shuts down, especially if we stop immediately? Does anyone think a PCT of anti-estrogen herbs/drugs would have helped avert it?
Great question!!! I was thinking that definietely has some involvement!
I have low e. So, dont really believe this is the case.
I have low total T , low Estrogen. Maybe estrogen to T ratio is out of balance and despite being both hormones low , the ratio is causing shut down.I don’t know.
I have high normal Testosterone and healthy estrogen levels and am still struggling…it’s beyond that I think…
Maybe adrenal fatigue?
Ok what I have conl
ok what I have concluded.
any 5AR will initially stops conversion of T to Dht thereby causing a rise in T. Now on the same time it causes some intera celular destruction (all my hypothesis)so cells stop responding to T. At this stage some ex-user feel sexual sides but their T is not down if they stop they mostly recover in different time frame (months or years).I will call these sufferers stage1. These users also have high estradiol. for some unknown reasons their HPTA does not get afffected.
Now on the other hand some users get asteriodal effect that is when their T is high their HPTA downregulates and produces less LH and FSH or their balls start producing less T ( I don’t know how and why but there are some ex users who have LH 4 or 5 but still T = 300+).I will call these ex-users stage2. we don’t know how they will react once their T is brought to normal level. These people have low T, low estrogen which is obvious when total T is low ,low estrogen will be produced.
You could be right here luckfax
I’ve lowered my estrogen to low normal and still have side effects.
I do believe though our estrogen levels were elevated WHILE we were on propecia, thus causing other paths to be disrupted(thyroid signaling, adrenals, and neurological issues). Having problems in these areas will no doubt lower your testosterone level.
Some of us may of been pre-disposed to mental illnesses(ie. bi-polar, multiple sclerosis, etc… etc…) Everybody’s body is different…
A qualified doctor could explain this better than me though…
I wish some people would focus more on this…it’s more of a rational explanation on our condition…
Once you crash this has very little to do with e levels
