I’m wondering why blood tests or exams aren’t required to get on this drug. It seems that anyone who wants it can get it. So what’s the point of the prescription?
Whats the point of your pointless posts that ask questions nobody can answer? Why don’t you ask your doc why they prescribed it to you without taking baseline tests?
BTW nice of you to continue to post such topics without giving us any sense of your history with the medication or any background on your situation.
He tested my blood before prescribing, but he has continued to insist that he only tested for one thing… WHich I think, but am not totally sure of, was an STD to explain for the hairloss, but maybe it was something else also. But he says it is a test he does for everyone before he just prescribes them.
Peace.
Hey guys i’m new to this but i’ll give you a brief history of my experience with a doctor. when i was 18 and had just left school i started noticing i was losing my hair, I FREAKED OUT! it scared me so much and i started feeling depressed and got nervous in public places. any how i did some research and came across propecia, so i went to see my doctor about this drug. when i asked him to prescribe me the drug he looked at me with a shocked expression and said he did not reccomend this drug. he told me it was a very toxic drug and due to my age he said he didnt want to prescribe me a drug that could effect my health. i told him about how hairloss was making me depressed and we decided that i would leave it for a year and if the problem was still an issue with me then he would allow me to go on the drug. we finished the session with him saying he could not believe that doctors would just prescribe this drug to young men without pointing out the fact that yes it is unlikely that you will experience side effects but if you do get the side effects your physical and mental health could be severely damaged.
i have not yet decided whether to go back and ask for the drug (im 19 and still very depressed about hairloss) but he assured me that if i did start the drug i could go back to him every month for a check up.
i wish you all a speedy recovery!
