Discussion on the use of IGF-1 supplements

Has anyone tried taking IGF-1 supplements? If so, with what results? Some studies (Melcangi) show a narrowing of the frontal cerebral cortex (hippocampus) due to prolonged use of Fin and antidepressants. Are growth hormones produced there if I’m not mistaken? Could there be a correlation with loss of muscle mass and wasting? In the elderly, cognitive impairment basically also coincides with physical wasting… Or maybe it’s just a fantasy, but many of us feel physically (pain, loss of muscle mass, and strength) and mentally down at the same time. I hope we can start a discussion.

I feel your pain. Big time PFS muscle-loser here. But I think that unless your IGF-1 is actually low, the growth hormone thing is a dead end. I actually tried taking real GH just to see what it could do, and it increased my heart rate and made me feel kinda crappy, so I quit pretty early into the experiment.

I’ve been able to recover about 50% of my muscle mass via TRT, but would love it if someone here could provide us with the missing link.
