Difficulty waking up

I have read a bunch of stories where Finasteride use impairs sleep and dreams. I can’t say that I have this problem. Instead it is quite the reverse.

When I was 29 I started losing my hair, fast. It was crazy how quickly hair loss came, almost overnight, and in about nine months I went from having a seriously amazing head of hair to a “stage 2” balding state, with further recession evident. This is when I began daily, 1 mg doses of Finasteride. (Two weeks ago)

I am 30 years old and I just started Finasteride about 2 weeks ago. Between the ages of 19 and 24, I remember how hard it was for me to wake up in the morning. Literally, it would take an hour to get out of bed. Around 25, it started becoming less of a problem. For the last two weeks, the trouble has returned. When I was in college, I had such a problem that I had to cope by operating on 28 hours days. It feels like this is returning.

This is the only noticeable, possible side-effect so far. Last week I did some of my best work in years, so “Brain Fog” doesn’t appear to be a problem here. Sexual side effects don’t seem present, although it hasn’t been long. I’m just curious what people have to say, and if there’s a good reason to quit now before I might damage myself.

if you read some of the severe problems we have here, you will find that discontinuing the medication is the wise thing to do. Some of the people on this board have severe, long lasting issues after only taking a couple weeks of the pill. If you stop, it is likely your waking problems will go away in the next couple weeks.

PS, you cannot post on this board unless you stop taking the medication.

thanks

Off topic but this is BS guys should be allowed to post here if they are pondering quitting instead of having to wait until they get into trouble.

There is plenty of info on this site and across numerous posts for guys still on the drug to help them make a decision about quitting, without us having to reiterate the same concepts ad nauseum to guys still on the drug, who may or may not quit, or who do quit and find their issues resolve as they should. This forum is not for those individuals, because the only way you’d know if you fall into the category of “permanent side effects sufferer” is if you quit and find side effects don’t resolve/worsen with time.

To clutter the forum with posts from guys asking if they should/should not quit, or that they aren’t having issues from the drug is thus redundant. So, it is NOT BS in the slightest. Those are the rules and always have been, and they are unlikely to change.

Really? I guess when you make your own website that’s how you can run it. But until then, re-read what this site is about.

I disagree, why should someone wait until they crash? What about guys who stumble across this forum having had sides they never knew were from the drug? Just let them panic, throw it away and then go to hell in a few weeks? Most guys have only the most elementary knowledge about hormones etc and it should be ok for any ‘newbie’ who wants to get off to ask what to do or what not to do, without being put off 'cos they’re not bona fide ‘sufferers’. If some guys don’t want to stop I understand the logic there but that doesn’t apply to everyone.

they are welcome to view this site and all the info on it, they just do not need to go posting left and right panicking when (likely) they aren’t going to be a long term sufferer. A member always replies and tells them to get off the drug if they post and to review the site, so it isn’t like we kick them off and don’t allow them to review the material.

Early stage adrenal fatigue, difficulty getting up in the mornings. Your decline has already started. The reason some men dont suffer sides is that they have better adrenals and thyroid and sex hormone profile and can cope, if you already had weak adrenals then this drug is the nail in the coffin and you get very quick side effects, yours are starting, beware, read the first effects of adrenal issues - difficulty getting up in mornings, this is due to low cortisol in mornings.

Guys, most of what people post can be traced back to adrenals and thyroid, they can cause issues in every organ in the body, i spoke to imminent Drs about this and mostl these symptoms are just that adrenal and thyroid issues. Sex hormones are actually regulated by adrenals and thyroids - test levels jumo once they are healed, usually jump over double what they were before. Thats a 400 ng dl guy going up past 800 ng dl with reulting free test, dht etc etc. Dont think its all just androgen deprivation or what else, the soloution i feel is simpler.
