Did you experience side effects of other drugs before taking finasteride?

If you had used other drugs (whichever kind) before finasteride did you get any kind of side effect? And if you have used some drugs after finasteride has the reaction changed?

In my case, before finasteride I would never get side effects from “normal” drugs (ibuprofen, etc.), but I used the drug ritalin and the antidepressant Zoloft for a small amount of time.
Ritalin caused me a lot of anxiety and difficulty comunicating, and Zoloft caused my libido to disappear completely (it returned after stopping the treatment, but probably not to 100%).

AFTER FINASTERIDE: I have taken both of these drugs after finasteride, ritalin causing shrinkage and extreme anxiety (some days after taking it), a “crash”, and zoloft causing some anxiety and penile pain and not working to do its function: I had to stop it after less than two weeks because it only caused anxiety and pain.

Ritain is basically amphetamnie, so it will tax your endocrine system, and that has (likely / apparently) been compromised by finasteride (or whatever drug got you here). It’s why it is very ill-advised to be taking recreational drugs that are stimulants, such as speed, cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy if you have PFS. I have definitely read of someone reporting a full PFS crash after taking drugs like that, having previously only had sexual sides.

Heavy drinking. Painkillers. All kinds of amphetamines with sometimes big periods of stress and nosleep. All at least 7months pre the findose. Wasnt even touching beer for the last 6months and ate extremely clean. Never had even the slightest adverse reaction to ANYTHING, aswell as never any addiction (besides sugar). Could drink a liter of vodka pass out and still be hungry for a kebab or horny for a fapsession. And a freaking 0.25mg dose during my healthiest time of my life of Fin kicked the shit outta me…
I’d even say my recreational drug use throughout my life was that high because I reacted very positive to everything, always.

Ritalin lowers neurosteroids in people with ADHD-PI and depressive symptoms in one RCT but increases for other phenotypes of ADHD. I think it greatly worsened my insomnia when I was taking even tiny doses of it. From being wide awake at 3 hours down to 1.

I used to think side effects were pretty much a myth, or something that only happened to very weak and sick people. I fully believed in the safety of approved drugs… I wish I was as sceptical then, as I am now.

Same as you kan, used to be just like everyone else when taking normal drugs. Since my crash and extreme degree of PFS I am very sensitive to substances and medications which can easily dramatically worsen me - but in terms of PFS, not their own side effects. It’s certainly a negative effect that’s only possible due what has been physiologically changed in me.
