did you ever experience this before propecia use...

Hi everyone, while the medical research is ongoing, I am looking for common symptomology that might have affected all of us. If you read my post under theories entitled, “what binds us all” I have theorized that we are all hypersexual, intense, politician like, easily excited based on high histamine levels. Almost everyone has agreed with the hypersexual label. I also wanted to know,(1) prior to your fin usage did any of use have a hyper sensitive reaction to cold weather? While everyone’s hands might get cold, I remember when I was young my hands would be insanely red and raw in cold weather. In the winter time they would sometimes even crack and bleed. One of the symptoms I am now dealing with his this hypothyroid like frozen hands, even in warmer temperatures. Also, (2) did anyone of you, even if it was when you were much younger, every experience testicle pain sometimes associated with leg or knee pain?

i will says that a couple years before taking Propecia… during a cold winter - my hands started becoming so dry to the point of cracking and bleeding around the knuckle area. my friends were asking me if i was punching cement!

one other question i have is for those who crack their joints (back, knuckles)… have you noticed a difference in the way it feels? it’s really when i crack my knuckles… the cracks are weaker and feel completely different. i can’t explain it well.

  1. no
  2. no
  1. yes
  2. Pre-fin no. Post-fin I would have pain go from penis to knee at times while masturbating. I always thought this was so odd.

My hands and feet have always became very cold easily, since I was a kid. Also my lips would turn purple if slightly cold.

Yes. In winter some of my fingers would always be cold/numb/white. Like a slight form of Raynouds Syndrome.

Yes to pain. It only happened a few times but it was almost dabilitating testicular pain (only left testicle). Nothing to do w knee tho

I’m not sure how you arrived at this conclusion considering there was maybe only a handful of guys who responded to your previous post, and not even all of them agreed with your claim. Second, you were asked multiple times by Mew to provide scientific evidence of your assertions, and as far as I can tell you have still yet to do so.

I’m not trying to be critical, nor do I necessarily have a problem with theorizing, but in my opinion you’ve been lumping everyone in with your theory by assuming we all have certain common characteristics when those characteristics have simply not proven to be present in the population here as a whole. Listen, don’t take this the wrong way – I’ll be as happy as anyone if by some miracle you stumble upon a unifying characteristic of our condition, let alone a root cause or cure. But I think if you’re going to continue to theorize you should at least make an effort to be objective in both your research and findings. Thanks, and good luck with this theory.

here is one very interesting study:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7850330

also google antihistamine and erection…and the question of whether or not antihistamines (cortisol the bodys natural antihistamine) contribute to weak erections and low libido. Again, if I apply your logic with regards to scientific studies, can’t you show me at least one study that says finasteride will cause potentially permanent sexual dysfunction with digestive problems, red face, muscle weakness, thinning legs, confusion, stuttering? The obvious answer is no.

Clampdown, do you not fit any of this criteria? What are your most obvious symptoms? Do they fluctuate in the least? Dont forget even though I am calling for somewhat objective analysis of symptoms, how people feel and what they experience is very easily influenced by subjective criteria.

Clampdown- also if you read this post, all but one person has experince a hypersensitive response to cold weather. And that one person Second Amendment lives in Las Vegas. Cold intolerance is a symptom of low progesterone. Excessive cold intolerance such as ice cold hands in 70 degeree temp…well that could be near depleted progesterone (bound, not unbinded)

Again, this is an opinion. Please provide a documented scientific resource or paper which states this exact claim.

Mew- I am not a pure science guy like most of you, but why is the connection between the two all over the internet and recognized by doctors? I would search some more.

Can I ask you something, if I had a sudden onset of excessive red ice cold hands and feet in room temperature conditions (if I had not previously had this in my lifetime) What would you think attributed to this with regards to the cause? Would you at least concede that whatever the cause is at work, it is due to some sort of blood vessels that are constricted?

So now you are putting the onus on us, the reader, to prove your points? That’s not right.

If what you state is in fact true, you should be able to provide scientific articles (not spam blogs) to backup your claims, since you are the one making such definitive statements.

I’m no longer interesting in theorizing, I’d rather leave the research to scientists in the lab. Instead of theorizing, perhaps make a weekly or monthly donation to the PFS Foundation so we can get this problem resolved.

The issue is you are making blanket statements like they are known fact, when they are simply your opinion considering you have yet to provide scientific papers which support your claim(s). A better way to approach this issue might be to post it like “I have read certain articles which allude to the fact that low progesterone may have an influence on blood circulation… perhaps this could play a role in why some people report cold intolerance?”, while citing your [scientific] sources.

That is completely different than stating “Cold intolerance is a symptom of low progesterone.”. Anyone can say anything online, so if you are going to make such definitive statements, you should use scientific articles to prove your point.

Thanks.

First, I am definitely not on this site to prove anything nor am I an authority in this matter. I am affected like all of you, and I am searching for a common basis grounded in both affected symptomology as well as pre-existing conditions that might have affected us. I am incredibly logical. BUT, you are absolutely correct, these are all of my opinions and I as such I should write my statements as a matter of opinion based on persuasive articles rather than fact. I am in total agreement with you.

Also, the reason I ask for the concesion of the constriction of blood vessels is because that is not a theory at all. I think one thing that has gotten lost in many posts is the cause and effect of a symptom. When your hands are cold = blood vessels are constricted. That is an incredibly important piece of information. Now we might not know the cause (lupus, autoimmune, reynaulds, stress, thyroid, low P etc), but we do know the effect. I hope by looking at all the effects we can formulate a better logical cause.
