Dental/Salivary gland problems? are these issues temporary?

I’ve stopped taking propecia twice, both times I was traveling and couldn’t see a doctor and get a refill. First time I stopped taking it, I had seen a dentist for a cleaning, then a month later my teeth got really yellow, as if I’ve been smoking for a long time, I got a cleaning a few months later and oral hygienist was shocked that this was from a few months.

I didn’t think much of it, but had same situation and ran out and stopped taking it about two months ago. I had cleaning not long ago and already kind of see teeth getting worse, not to mention I went to ENT with salivary gland swelling and need to get a CT Scan on that.

Are these side effects of propecia? Should I be worried about the swelling?

Also, I noticed in a separate forum that it’s possible propecia caused neurological issues. I was on zoloft last year and after taking it felt I wasn’t the same, but not sure if it maybe was propecia now.

Are all these side effects temporary or forever?

Unsure if it’s related but some months before I discontinued propecia, i developed submandibular gland (one side) swelling. I used to smoke so I was coming unglued with worry. ENT and internist recommended a biopsy. I had it and it came up negative and no cause of the swelling was determined. Still aches occasionally, having it monitored by my ENT.

The weekend after I quit Fin. , due to sexual sides , I quickly developed parotid gland swelling. Now I have Sjogren’s symptoms. Dry eyes, Mouth, Nose.

You just describe my experience exactly. I have submandibular swelling on one side. ENT checked me out and said it is slightly inflamed but ok other than that. I noticed that when I finally stopped propecia the swelling and pain went away or at least decreased by about 80%.

Recently I tried saw palmetto. After about a week I noticed the swelling and pain again. I’m convinced it’s related to the 5ar enzyme since saw palmetto is supposedly a very weak version of fin.
