Dental care compatibility with PFS

Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, i’m having tooth decay.
You may be wondering what this has to do with PFS, and the reason is that i’ve become very sensitive not only to chemicals in general but also to things that can have an anti-androgen or anti-5-alpha-reductase effect on me but not on healthier subjects, things like nuts, oils, pollution, everyday chemicals…

I’m paralyzed by fear. While on the one hand, i certainly don’t want to lose my teeth, on the other, i don’t want to risk putting material in my mouth that could cause a serious reaction… I’m so sensitive that even wearing rubber sandals, even with socks, can make me feel sick (i’ve developed a condition that makes me hypersensitive to various chemicals and molds).

The problem, therefore, is twofold: anesthesia and any materials used to rebuild teeth after removing cavities must be compatible not only with my sensitivity to chemicals but also with the Post-Finasteride Syndrome!
In short, i’m worried that a dentist might use anesthesia or materials to rebuild my teeth that could further disrupt my health…
As i mentioned, i react to both natural and artificial elements that also have a mild anti-androgenic or anti-5-alpha-reductase effect.

Have you had cavities since you had PFS? What materials did you use to repair the teeth? And how did you resolve the situation with anesthesia?
I’d like to hear your experiences.

Ahhh actually have a similar issue right now. Cracked a tooth on a popcorn kernel and had a filling fall out of the same tooth. My dentist drilled out the old silver fillings and repaired with composite which also requires a blue curing light to harden the material. Not sure what I crashed from specifically, whether it was the anesthesia or something else, but it’s been a rough past month that has brought by hypnic jerks amongst other symptoms. Unfortunately, I am still having some sensitivity in that tooth and I have another old filling that fell out and needs replaced. I need to go back in, but I honestly can’t afford to worsen at the moment. This led me into looking into other options. There is this thing call laser dentistry where they use a laser without the need for anesthesia to destroy decay in your tooth. I think you can also request no anesthesia as long as the cavity isn’t too deep. Personally, I am going to look into laser dentistry and look for another dentist that uses amalgam instead of composite.

I wonder if can be that you crashed because of the new filling, which is what i fear for me… How do you feel these days? Did you go back to your baseline?

I did not know about the laser thing but i suppose that even in this case, after removing cavities, the teeth should anyway undergo some sort of rebuild, isn’t it?

I know there are biological dentists over there but i still wonder how to avoid hazardous anti-dht materials in my mouth…

And what could replace anesthesia? Hypnosis? Acupuncture?

I think it’s very important for us in the pfs community to find what the best practices might be to take care of out teeth avoiding dangers…

P.s. amalgams? Isn’t that dangerous? You know, the heavy metals…
