Has anyone else noticed a decreased appetite or interest in eating after having taken Finasteride/Propecia for 2 months? (I have now quit but am waiting for it to go back to normal.)
This is not unheard of. Please do a search of the site before posting such new threads. There is a button in the upper right.
Yes. Took around 7-8 months to return to normal, however i feel very weak when i get severely hungry now. I don’t think that’s too uncommon for normal people although i do not believe i had it this bad before. I also had some digestion problems that completely resolved after 9 months. In this area i deem myself 100% recovered as it does not concern me anymore. My mouth waters when i taste really good food which is a good sign! Hopefully this will resolve for you too.
Less muscle mass, slowing of metabolism for most of us so no surprise.
I eat almost 1/4th of my pre-saw palmetto food quantity, and some times I have to force my self. constant loss of appetite and nausia.
So I’m thinking about what is going on and something seriously sparked my interest. In light of the thread that said member’s weight on a slide scale vs other men, the majority of people who posted are very thin, including me.
So I wanted to know, post propecia or even pre propecia, what were/are your daily hunger levels?
With me, I’d say I’m generally not really hungry and don’t get intense feelings like I want to eat. I mostly just feel weak after not eating.
I’ll go into more about what my thoughts are about this as people reply because I’ve noticed some really interesting things regarding hunger in my own case.
Oh my god, yes. I actually just made this post in the questions forum asking the same question.
Now that I see other people have this, let me elaborate a little bit about what I think may be going on.
I did the stool test for parasites/fungus and it came up with nothing. However, what did come up was a low amount of digestive enzymes.
Now, when you eat cooked food, your body is depleted of the digestive enzymes.
I can make myself get very, very hungry when I eat raw foods. Raw foods are very good for digestion because they are a natural source of digestive enzymes, in that they add digestive enzymes to your body as opposed to you using your body’s supplies.
ALSO, I had MASSIVE itchy scalp when I stuck to veggie diet + vitd3 + cod liver oil + digestive enzymes. Only when I added digestive enzymes did my hair loss get so extreme, I could feel tingling on my scalp as if there bugs on my head. My hair never fell out before.
I just took about 9 digestive enzymes with my last meal and ran my hand through my head and got about 15-20 hairs.
Now, is this a good thing? I have no idea. It’s telling me that 5AR2 is being reactivated so I guess so. Maybe if I stay on the diet long enough + digestive enzymes and all that, this will clear up more quickly… hmmm.
