Yes many guys experience decreased “pleasure” from orgasm thanks to the drug. In some cases guys can’t even tell if they came or not, since there is no feeling of “release”. The decreased orgasm feeling is often further compounded by a lack of sensation in the penis (ie numbness) which some guys also get.
I don’t know your history with the drug… but if you’ve been on it for a short time or a long time and you are experiencing this side effect + any others (and it is concerning to you), then you probably should consider discontinuing. Most likely you should be back to normal within a month.
yeah only 1.5 months into it… i feel its working for my hair though… any suggestions of ways to go about hair loss preservation? i mean there probably is no other way, unless i use a topical which works in a completely different way… therefore having a dramatic shed. or if theres no alternatives ill bite the bullet and shave my head…
thanks…

im worried that something like this might continue… do u reckon halfing my dosage would help at all?
First – this isn’t a hairloss forum, it’s for guys that quit the drug and continue to have side effects that did not resolve after quitting… pls read the msg at the top of this site. The guys here couldn’t care less about losing hair anymore after the damage the drug did to us in our attempts to keep it.
You are better off going to hairloss sites like hairlosstalk.com or hairlosshelp.com for info on other hairloss prevention routines. That said you might consider rogaine, topical spiro cream, fluridil or a natural regimen like Immortal Hair’s, Saw Palmetto/Nettles/Pygmeum/Green Tea extract/Fish Oil, or topical Revivogen.
See the study “Study of the FDA Files on Propecia” in the Finasteride Studies section of this website. Short answer – the drug has a flat dose response so taking 0.25 or 5mg inhibits nearly the same amount of DHT. But you may be able to lessen the severity of side effects with a lower dosage.
Since it takes up to a week for DHT levels to return to baseline after a single dose, if you plan to continue I’d take no more than 0.125mg (8th of 1mg) every 3rd or 4th day.
sammo get off the drug as soon as possible if you want to save your penis. I had the same exact side effect 1.5 months in, and i still have it now 10 months later. I thought i would just wait it out see if it got better it did not, my advice is quit the drug slowly ween yourself off of it. because i quit it cold turkey and my life is shit now. Believe me hair is not important enough to be castrated.
