DC Area: Urologists or Endocrinologists who you can recommend????

Hey guys,

I just joined this site because i’ve been having all the same post-propecia problems reported on this site. I want to try to start taking action now that I am off the drug and have been off it for more than a year. I live in the Washington DC area and am wondering if any of you do as well and have found success with any doctors in this area?? I contacted the Dr. referred to on this website but they are very far away for me and i doubt i could fly out there just for an appointment. Can anyone in my area give me some suggestions?? IM DYIN OVA HERE!!!

Did you find a good Dr. in or around DC. If so, please let me know.

Thanks

I have not found a doctor that is aware and experienced with post-propecia sexual problems. I’ll let you know.

Dr. Richard Sherins of Columbia Fertility Associates.

I went to see him. He was very understanding, but ultimately couldn’t find anything abnormal with me. He says he previously didn’t think propecia could do this type of long term damage, but said he is seeing more and more patients that complain about this. You can see him. Maybe he will start looking into this more since he just saw me for this issue back in May 2008.

If anyone else can recommend any doctors in DC I would greatly appreciate it. After quitting propecia over 2 years ago and still having problems, it’s long past time that I see someone.

Regarding doctors I tried the following:

www.endocrinologygroup.com
The doctors here (Arlington, VA) I had no luck with. Big waste of money.

caringdoc.com/ourteam.htm
I saw Dr. Schiffman who seemed open to the problem and working with it. However it was private practice (no insurance). After spending a few thousand I decided I couldn’t pursue it longer. Ran out of money. This is an alternative provider meaning they also do homeopathy and spend a lot of time listening to patients who haven’t been able to be healed from other doctors. Also, I heard that Dr. Steinmetz is the best, however she’s not taking new patients, so I kind of got stuck with one of the others. If you have the financial resources I believe this doctor may give all the tests and work at finding a solution but you will have to be very engaged.

I also tried another Dr., or what I thought was a Dr. and turned out to be a physician’s assistant in Virginia, Jennifer Conway. Not recommended.

I saw a few others but can’t remember the names. No one I had luck with.
