  3. Anything not listed in the above questions you’d like to share about your experience with Finasteride?

  4. Tell us your story, in your own words, about your Finasteride usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.

I started taking the drug at the first signs of hair loss. And everything was well
About a year in I noticed that I don’t get morning erections any more and less interest in sex.

This happened during the winter of 2009 and it was one of the coldest in history. So I didn’t panic and decided to wait a while. It’s said on the leaflet that some men have a loss of Libido but that most it returns for most men who continue using it and for all men who stop.

So I continued using the pills

After about 12 months I decided to stop because I still had not returned to normal.
I went down to 1/2 tablet a day for a few weeks and then stopped on Xmas eve 2010.

About 2 weeks after stopping I was all man again… but over the last week it’s started to fade again.

Welcome, Dave.

Same sad story as the rest of us. We believed Merck when they said the sides would go away. Was far from the truth.

Get your full hormone panel testing done soon as you can.

btw- how bad was the shrinkage for you? I know me and a couple others it was 50% and literally overnight.

Well it’s not that bad at present. The crash, as I think you all call it, only started about 1 week ago.
Before that the side effects totally went away for a week or 2 after I stopped taking the pills.

Can I ask a question?

Is this permanent in all cases?
At this stage what are my chances?

Hi guys  well it has been a long time… Ok so I basically have been doing school and began a fitness plan which includes cardio and circuit training and some free weights. One very important thing I feel was key in making this situation improve has been including mens (and womens…yea I know;) ) multivitamins, training supplements and individual vitamins like A, B Complex, C, D, E & K plus a few minerals and omega 3 fish oil and and totally revamping my diet. Ok, now if your still reading, understand I’m not a doc, I’m just another person that made a choice to give this a try. Keep in mind that I used it for about 10 years along with female hormones (estrogen and progesterone etc.)
Also you need to remember to include naturally that a decade has passed, lol yikes!

Enough already girl! Ok, so what’s the bottom line on my progress?

Since the time I posted here the dark circles are very much improved and the skin tone is getting better every month. The brain foggy thing is 100% gone. My nails and hair are in great condition now and really hard too so I can have square French tips. Finally! Yay!

One thing that is still an issue is the dry eye gland problem. For this I’m using lubricating artificial tears and I’m hoping to rejuvinate it with warm compressing and lots of time in the steam room and sauna after working out or hottubbing with friends.

Please try to be focused on things getting better, I know they can if i give everything toward physical fitness, calorie and food restriction and spending a few bucks a month for vitamins and supplements and face creams for night and day.

It’s very difficult to exert myself physically due to issues unrelated to being prescribed, I don’t regret taking it, because I definetly needed to block testosterone my natural levels were very high even for a guy.

I wrote this mainly for you David, hugs and hope you find a way to feel better. And that’s also for all the guys too! XXX
