Cryotherapy

I just saw a add on tv about cryotherapy. It’s basically a human refrigerator, where you go in at -140 degrees Celcius for 3 minutes !!!

chicagocryospa.com/cryotherapy-b … lammatory/

Apparently some athletes use it to recuperate faster because it reduces inflamation, but it was designed to fight arthritus, an auto immune disease.

Worth a try?

give it a try.

its worth a try!

if i could find this here i would give it a try.

i’m experimenting with cold showers it helps.

but the best would be very cold water 8ºC or so

Ok, I guess I will try it. Should do no harm. I just sent an email to see how much it costs.

I’m in a mental state where I want to do something for this PFS shit !! I’m still looking for natural (no pills) alternatives at this time.

So it’s 69$ per session. And although she said I should start seing results after the first session (she thought I was using the treatment for a sport injury), she recommends around 10 sessions within a 3-4 weeks timelapse.

I will certaintly try at least 2-3 sessions, and go from there.

Cheaper to make an ice bath

way too expensinve. go swim in the ocean in winjter time

Meh … money isn’t really an object. It’s also -140 degrees compared to 5-8 celcius for a cold shower or swim, so not quite the same. I’ll give it a try within the next few weeks.

After the cost of the pills, the therapy, the loss of effectiveness at work, acupuncture, endo, blood tests, etc… what’s another 70$?

I think its not quite as good tbh. It may be more convenient and easier.

Maybe. Who knows.

Forgot to say … I’m from Montreal, so there’s no ocean (at least, not anywhere close), and during the winter, all the lakes transform in skating rinks !

My apointment is booked for tomorrow at 5:20 ! Here goes nothing …

I have not had a single good day (above 30%) since July. Most of the days, I still feel between 0 - 20% (both libido and ED) - though I am closer to 20% if I don’t “play with it”. So if this thing gets me anywhere past that point, I’m going for the 10 session package !!

Doubtful, but worth a try. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Here is where I am going:
spacloud.com/menu/cryosauna/

Here is how they sell it:
The Cryosauna is a free-standing chamber that is chilled -110 degrees Celsius, using liquid nitrogen. While stepping inside, you will feel the dry blast of cold and be exposed for 3 minutes, which will immediately stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms. Exposure to this sudden cold stimulates the body’s healing mechanisms, much like the ice baths used by pro sports teams in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. In addition to the healing process, the Cryosauna also helps with preventing injury, increasing flexibility and improving age-related skin conditions. Cryosauna is dry, safe and provides a quick boost to your body’s natural capabilities!

Here are a few potential benefits that they list:

  • Decreased muscle soreness, spasms and inflammation
  • Relief of inflammation, swelling and pain
  • Releases Endorphins
  • Increased energy
  • Relief from depression, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, migraines and the effects of stress
  • Boosting your metabolism to stimulate weight loss (you can burn 500-800 calories per treatment)
  • Relief of pain from joint disorders, rheumatoid diseases and fibromyalgia.

this is maybe not enough but if you like it im sure you can find a way to get the same benefits at home on your bathtub.
people use ice to cool down the water and stay inside for 20m-60minutes.
it is supposed to perk up your metabolism and testosterone but ihad read these cryotherapies aren’t enough because there is no direct contact with skin and is too little time. so you know what to try next if this isnt good enough

let us know how it goes!

Keep us posted

Ok well I’m out! It was pretty fun, but honnestly did not feel that cold (or long). I just stood there for three minutes, and its a little like running naked outside at -30 degrees.

Its been about 30 minutes and I do feel a certain “well being”, a bit like when you go to a spa and do the “hot / cold” pattern. I will give it a few days to see if it gives me any other benefits (libido).

In the meantime, I will have to agree with xptriado and douglasmich that a cold bath would probably do the trick also, maybe even better! If I do feel benefits, I will probably add a 3 minute cold bath right after a very hot morning shower to my morning routine.

You need to start shivering. Thats when you stop.

3 minutes is too little time for this.
