I’ve just started taking Creatine Monohydrate and I’m wondering if this is a mistake or not. Since I’ve already started (yesterday) I guess I just have too wait and see. I’m just wondering if anyone here has had any luck, or bad luck taking Creatine Monohydrate? According too this study:http://www.exercisebiology.com/index.php/site/articles/creatine_increases_dihydrotestosterone_dht_is_creatine_bad_for_your_health/
Creatine raises DHT and I’m not sure if this is a good or a bad thing? Any thoughts?
The major findings of the study were:
DHT: The levels of DHT increased by 56% after 7 days of creatine loading and remained 40% above baseline after 14 days maintenance (significant)
Ratio of DHT to T: The ratio of DHT:T also increased by 36% after 7 days creatine supplementation and remained elevated by 22% after the maintenance dose.
The ratio tells us that the increased DHT levels are not because of a higher testosterone levels but a greater conversion of T to DHT.
I tried a loading phase of 20gr during 10 days then lowered to 5gr per day during 2 months and didn’t notice any improvement in ED.
anyone done further testing with creatine?
I felt good on creatine but only in extremely high doses, I was taking 20 grams a day. I think the regular dose is 5 g. But its relatively harmless stuff, just make sure you drink a ton of water.
I saw the same study you did and have tried creatine myself about a year ago. The result. Taking creatine was one of the worst decisions Ive made. (besides taking propecia in the first place that is). My body is extremely sensitive to outside stimulus, which is one of the reasons I think I was permanently effected by propecia in the first place. Your body is already in a fragile state. Adding creatine which even for a fully healthy person is hard on ones body and liver is not smart. It did give me a positive boost for about 2 weeks but then I crashed and it started giving me side effects which I didn’t have before. Mental side effects like brain fog, caused constipation in poo pellets, severe insomnia and it stopped my body being able process alcohol. When I stopped taking it the brain fog went away but the other side have remained and its been over a year. Adding something that is hard on your already fragile body is not the right plan for long term health. At least that’s been my experience anyway. Take it for what you will.
fucking hell!?!? can’t you guys use search function of the forums?? (EDIT: oh! it’s a 2010 topic and vittujoo is necroposting/asking the same question. no dude, don’t do it.) it’s REALLY bad during PFS, drop the creatine right now. it has people worse for some in this forum. for me - i took it pretty soon after i crashed. it reversed a lot of my sexual (physical, not libido) symptons for a whole month, gradually getting back to the baseline. i did it again, noticed that it wasn’t working as it should and the second time i came down from it, it really fucked me up badly. gave me new symptons. easily the second-worst decision i have done besides/after fin. it’s pretty much similiar story to westside’s above my post (i’m sorry to hear dude). idk, i don’t want to theorize about it, my advice is that it won’t do any good for you and you should drop it.
