Could bio-identical testosterone have some properties to it that may help us relieve some of our symptoms, opposed to regular synthetic test?
I’m getting worse and I need to try and do something. I tried clomid, it raised my test and dht but had no effect. I must get some form of relief, I know we have no cure for this problem but I just need something to help lesson all the bad symptoms of this problem. Mentally I’m trying to stay strong but it’s hard to when I see myself getting worse as time goes by.
Has anybody here tried bio-identical test as opposed to the normal synthetic?
I read somewhere here that anecdotally someone did get better with bioidentical, but I can’t remember who and don’t know how reliable it is. Plus, seems like a lot of “recoveries” are short-lived and people basically relapse.
Pretty much the story with all of us. Improvement on any form of HRT is extremely rare regardless bioidentical or synthetic. The rules of that game don’t apply to us anymore. IF I were to go back on some form of HRT I’d go bioidentical. I’m seeing a naturopath when she gets her new office up and going. She’s big on bioidentical. I’ll see what she has to say. I see this more as putting my body in the best shape I can and don’t view any sort of HRT as an effective treatment for PFS anymore.
Im pretty sure its the same thing.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but things occurring naturally cannot be patented - including hormones. It was my impression that pharma companies tried to alter naturally occurring substances slightly so the can be patented and branded, naturally being worth more as a substance the drug producer owns as opposed to something anyone can make and sell. Feel free to look farther into patent law. This site seems to describe the basics:

WHAT ARE BIOIDENTICAL HORMONES?
Bio identical hormones are structurally identical to the hormones in your body. They are often made from plant sources, but the end product is exactly the same as what would be produced by your body.
WHAT ARE SYNTHETIC HORMONES?
A synthetic or patentable hormone is a hormone that is not produced by your body, but will act like a hormone in your body. For example, Premarin, which is derived from pregnant mare urine, will activate many of the same receptors as human hormones do. Provera starts with a bio identical hormone and converts it into a synthetic hormone by changing the chemical structure. In so doing, the synthetic hormone can be patented and be sold for a much higher price by the pharmaceutical company. One disadvantage is that a synthetic hormone is not metabolized by your body as easily as a bio identical hormone and thus causes more side effects. One advantage is that your insurance plan may cover patented hormones that are manufactured by major drug companies, where they may not cover a bio identical hormone which is produced by a compounding pharmacy. Compounding pharmacies are specialized pharmacies that formulate and customize bio-identical hormones to your precise need as determined by your physician.
