Its been basically 7 days since I quit taking propecia, I took it for about a year. While on the drug I had some slight sexual side effects but nothing like what I am experiencing now that I stopped taking it. Since quitting it feels like my penis is numb, detached from my body, even if I can get it erect it has no sensation whatsoever and pretty much deflates immediately. I have no sex drive, ED, all the other symptoms people speak of. My main question is, since these side effects began AFTER quitting the drug… is there still any chance they can resolve or is this a sure sign that they are permanent? I dont know how to go about approaching this, I never had any blood work done while on the medication and this seems like the type of situation that doctors will not believe. So basically, since my sides began after quitting the drug, is there still any possibility at all that they will resolve naturally? or do only sides that are present while ON the medication resolve after discontinuation of use. Its been a week since I stopped, I’m taking a multi-vitamin, 50mg zinc, L-arginine and bromelain. I have also been doing some heavy lifting but I dont seem to be coming around yet. Oh and say my sides dont go away, will some kinda ED medicine work just to help me get and keep an erection? I dont care if I can feel it or not, I just dont want there to be no sex in my relationship, even if I have to fake it to make it.
Yes, things tend to improve for most with time. For some it can take a few weeks, others months and others over the course of a year or two.
Relax, it’s only been a week since quitting and most likely things should come back online.
There’s Viagra and Cialis, or you can try Horny Goat Weed (natural supplement) which isn’t as potent but also has less chance for side effects compared to the pharmaceuticals.
Hey thanks for the quick reply, really makes me have some hope. This loss of sensation down there is most troubling. I’m probably gonna try Viagra or cialis, I’m just hoping that I will actually be able to achieve an erection on these meds because I have no sensation anymore.
If you are considering that route, I would highly recommend you start at a LOW dosage (ie 5-10mg of V), and not mix them with L-Arginine.
Cialis is much more potent than Viagra. Before touching these you should do your research. Personally I prefer Horny Goat Weed for these reasons.

I hear ya man, Ive been reading a lot of this stuff too… and it scares me but its a risk I suppose I am willing to try and take. Are you being a tad overly cautious suggesting I start at such a low dose or do you have personal experience with these medications? did they work for you? I cant believe this is happening to me, its so degrading. I think I may go another week or so and see how I feel. If I do end up going to the Dr. I probably wont go into much depth about the whole permanent side effect thing (doctors, at least from my experience, tend to discredit anything their patients suggest, especially if its not commonly accepted medical knowledge 
), I’ll just mention that I’m having side effects from the medication itself because I’m sure if I mention that they started when I quit using it, he will think I’m crazy because merck’s literature states otherwise. I can’t imagine those meds working on me though when I have no sensation anyway, after all, wouldnt sensation be required in the first place for you to become aroused? Its not that I 100& cannot achieve erections, they are just very weak, I lose them almost instantly, and I can only achieve them while alone because even the tiniest bit of nervousness or anxiety makes it completely impossible. This morning when I woke up, I actually had what I would consider 30% of the erection I used to wake up with in the morning before ever taking Fin and the few times that I missed a dose for a few days while on it. It was promising but certainly not enough to make me feel comfortable about my situation, and I still had lack of sensation all day (though the cold penis thing seems to have subsided). Its a shame too, because now it seems as though I’m masturbating just to try and see if it will work, not out of a genuine desire like I used to. I can indeed get it to happen, but its a power struggle and ejaculations just kinda ooze out now and are insanely weak (much much thicker though). What the hell did this drug do to me??? I guess I better start doing a lil bit of research on here, I’m trying not to read too much into it as its causing me an unbearable amount of stress and anxiety. I’m suggesting being overly cautious, IF you are planning to take them, to see what kid of effects they have… being cautious is especially warranted after the problems Finasteride has caused.
I personally have not used either drug but have been given prescriptions for them as well. I prefer Horny Goat Weed… even though it’s not as strong as a pharmaceutical, the chance of side effects is far less.
Everything else you wrote, almost everyone here can relate to. You should get bloodwork done per list at top of HORMONES section, to check your Total/Free Testosterone, LH, FSH, Prolactin, Estradiol, DHT, TSH, Adiol-G levels etc post-drug.
Viagra/Cialis (both PDE-5 inhibitors) do nothing for libido, they only help with bloodflow to the penis and the mechanics of obtaining an erection. Good luck to you, whatever you decide to do.
My symptoms to a tea…Only noticed after I quit and had the cold penis feeling/lack of sensation. Can still ejaculate put errection isnt as stiff. Hoping its just a natural reaction to recently quitting and will bounce back…
Going to get on horny goat weed, ZMA(zinc supp), Trib, and a test booster to help kickstart my system back to normal. Also going to take a bloodtest to compare since I got bloodwork done during a general physical a couple of weeks ago…
Hopefully this all clears up within a week or two, will keep the board posted.
