Concerns about Kennedy's Syndrome

After years of frustration, research, and increasingly bothersome symptoms I am now concerned that Finasteride has contributed to symptoms that seem to be similar to symptoms of Kennedy’s Syndrome.

In addition to Low T, I have been found to have other endocrine abnormalities including thyroid and glucose levels (pre-diabetes), high cholesterol.

Twitches around the body while at rest, sleep apnea, tongue scalloping, some difficulty with speech, and hand weakness and atrophy are also symptoms that I have been suffering with.

In addition, from recent x-rays it appears that I have some degeneration of the spine.

Since Kennedy’s Syndrome is a slowly progressing disease, it is hard to know what is going on.

I have seen several neurologists in the past and had tests and EMGs but they did not seem concerned and were unaware and uninterested in the effects of Propecia.

It just seems that all of these symptoms added up look similar to Kennedy’s and that is quite frightening. I plan to investigate this further as I meet with some new doctors.

I’ve seen one post regarding a possible connection, but has anybody else associated the two?

Has anyone had any DNA testing done for this (kennedys syndrome)?

Correction, it is actually Kennedy’s Disease.

Dutasteride is considering a treatment for Kennedy’s Disease so i doubt it. Worth checking out, regardless.

Does it seem plausible that those with the genetic defect for Kennedy’s are somewhat aided by the drug, while those that did not have the genetic defect have impaired their genes by taking the drug, thus giving both groups similar symptoms?

It seems that fin drug is working on the same parts of the body/brain affected Kennedy’s.

Does anybody know any knowledgeable doctor’s that have anything to say about this?
