Comprehensive blood tests i just got back

I wanted to post this information to help find any correlations

this test was 1700 bucks my insurance paid 400 from Geneva labs , its an organic acids test, oxidative stress, amino acids, toxic and nutrients elements

i am only going to post the things that are out of range

of all the metals it tested for:
- B-Alanine (High)
- Mercury (High)

and it recommends Magnesium for both of these in the amount of 800mg per day. on a scale of 1 -10 for how much I need magnesium I got a 8

Under Gastrointestinal Malfunctions it breaks it down to:
Protein Malabsortion / Maldigestion - I got a 6 and it broke down to this:
- Dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid (DHPPA) - (Super HIGH)
- Lysine (LOW)

Bacterial Dysbiosis - I got a 9/10
   - Dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid (DHPPA) - (Super HIGH) 3.1 (out of <2.2)
   - B-Alanine (High)

Of note : Impaired Methylation - I got a 0/10 - nothing off (but i dont even know what this means)

Of all of the supplements it recommends it really recommends a lot of Vitamin C and Magnesium

I was on the low end of the range out of range low on most amino acids except Taurine and glutamic acid

Glutamine/Glutamate was 9 (>12 range)
Creatinine was super high like 3 times normal range but it has a disclaimer that this value might not be accurate

Omega 3 index was LOW 3.6 (4 -12) and overall i have a fatty acid imbalance of some sort and it goes on to discuss the importance of fatty acids in regulating the inflammatory response

Vitamin D - 55 (50 -100) even though I take 5k IU a day

I have an appt with the doc who ordered this stuff and i will seek her advice moving forward. tonight i am going to go buy some magnesium :-/

the commentary goes on and on about how mercury can mess you up which is interesting

Methylation is the biochemical process in which certain molecules transfer or donate a methyl group (-CH3) to other molecules. This donation of the one carbon molecule comes from other larger molecules called methyl donors, such as methionine, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) and betaine. They transfer this molecule to other methyl acceptors with the help of methyl carriers that are primarily supplied as folates or vitamin B12. Important acceptors include nucleic acids/DNA, proteins, phospholipids and biological amines.

Without this methylation process, these methyl acceptors do not function optimally and damage to cellular structures can occur. Studies have demonstrated that impaired methylation can be detrimental to many functions in the human body, contribute to cardiovascular disease and arthritis, and potentially be the genesis of cancer.

sufficient methylation process can be supported by oral administration of several methylation factors, including betaine, vitamins B6 and B12, and folates.

Seems like an odd assortment of blood tests to order IMO. Wonder what he is thinking here?

I’d say its good that your vite d is in range, although barely. Most of us cant get there, even with sunlight exposure and high dose supps.

Did you get a full vitamin panel or just D?

Keep us posted, im especially interested in why your amino acids are low…would you mind posting the amino acid results in full?

yeah it looked at most vitamins i think. the problem is this test results is 28 pages long in PDF that was faxed to me so I cant copy paste and putting it all on here will take a couple hours. i basically highlighted the main ones.

I think its interesting that the malabsorption came so strong and it is something that we have been talking about and the test people obviously have no idea why im getting tested…

what is Dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid (DHPPA)? Can it F up the AR? or something like that?? that one really stands out on this test along with mercury

books.google.com/books?id=rk1Oo1PObDcC&pg=PA481&lpg=PA481&dq=Dihydroxyphenylpropionic+acid+neurotoxin&source=bl&ots=3aZAEeZ4rX&sig=q2T50cQrbeMHkPY80zxW1MPQCf8&hl=en&ei=gWXwTMnzLZSusAPjwIS_Cw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CCMQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=Dihydroxyphenylpropionic%20acid%20neurotoxin&f=false

What does dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid do? It appears to f up dopamine…It is a neurotoxin which comes from the gut, via bacteria, yeast, its not made by the body. By the looks you are way high

yeah well i guess since my creatinine levels were way high they dont consider all of these tests to be too accurate so I am retaking the test.

I did try to digure out what it is too and eventually i found that it links to that type of bacerica Choli-somethinerrather, and the way to treat it was lactobacillus rhamnosus and at about 30billion per day. i found 2 weeks worth of it for $35 at a vitaminshoppe and in the “ultimate flora vaginal support” and have been taking it since. i need to get some more but i am looking for a cheaper source of it

good find tim… i cant wait to be retested and bring this article to my doc
