Comparison to SSRI Sexual Dysfunction

I’ve been reading through a lot of reports of SSRI Sexual Dysfunction and what patients report. I’ve noticed common trends among people suffering from SSRI induced dysfunction, one of which is also shared by many of US suffering post-finasteride sexual dysfunction. Genital numbness.

Need help with PSSD caused by Sertraline(Zoloft). Was on the medication for 4 months and had terrible numbness in genital area and stopped cold turkey, had minor withdrawal effects and have been off the medication for 4+ months now and sexual dysfunction still persists and the overall skin sensitivity of my whole body has been numbed. I really don’t know what to do any help would be appreciated.

This connection makes me think more and more that the neurotransmitters are being affected in the brain. We know neurosteroids are of course being affected, so from this point I think it’s worth checking out how an imbalance in neurosteroids and GABA can affect neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine in the brain.

This is exactly what my doc said to me after consulting more doctors that have propecia suffers…the only problem is that he gave me an SSRI drug that can make my simptons worse…but the theory could be a good one.
