Cold induced hives? (Cold Urticaria)

It’s getting colder in NYC now, weather in the 30’s. I walk outside and within 10 minutes, my hands, face, feet, and ears start to swell up, get red, feel HOT, and itch. I have had allergies my whole life and I read that fin can change them, but I never had hear of an allergy to cold prior to this. The reaction can take 10-30 minutes to happen. It (thank god) subsides when I get indoors. Insulated body parts take longer to react, so I am overdressing when I go outside. At first I thought it was the sun, but it happened at night as well. This is a fucking nightmare in terms of my life because I have to get the kids out of the house on the weekend and now even walking to the subway for work makes me worry.

I’ve been off Fin for approx 6 weeks now. I thought I was slowly doing a little better, but then this shit hits me. I’m not sure what the correlation is. Have an allergy appointment scheduled for next week. I had a chest cold 2 weeks ago which left me with a chest rash (derma examined and said it’s a common thing). That cleared up, then I got another chest cold which came with some depression as well. I got out of that, mood lifted, was feeling not so bad, and was eating a little worse (I am Gluten and Dairy free but indulged in some more carbs than usual). Also was getting erections again and decided to beat off on Monday. For the first time, I didn’t have a huge crash after. BUT Tuesday this damn hives thing started. So I don’t know if I can attribute it to general fin withdrawal, carbs, jelqing, or what. Also, my body feels a little less sensitive (all over) than usual- perhaps due to the swelling.

Something to note here, during my steady decline in the last 2 years while on fin, I had 2 hives outbreaks from unknown causes. The first was subdued by a Benadryl. The second was resistant to a Benadryl, so I called the emergency line at my allergist. I got a different doctor than my own, he advised taking TWO Benadryls every four hours until the hives subsided. They were mostly gone by morning and of course, I was completely dehydrated and felt like I had been clocked by Mike Tyson. Prior to this I had never had hives in my life. Only some food and pet allergies.

Will report other issues on my member stories thread, but thought I’d fish here for similar stories and hopefully SOLUTIONS!

Anyone?

Update on this- the hives seem to have subsided, in conjunction with generally feeling better. Hopefully they will not return.

My symptoms are much worse in the winter for sure. I can’t wait for march.
