Class Action Lawsuit Update!

Hi i was just wondering if anybody could recommend a good law firm fighting Merk.I was with the Sanders Phillips Grossman firm and they dismissed me,these people are just parasites feeding off the propecia victims trying to get richer off our misfortunes.Well if i dont find another firm they said i can never in the future open another suit against merk.I got dismissed because i was diagnosed with low T 3years after taking the drug and was out of the time limitation.Bastards dropped me and didnt even try and put up a fight also they are just fighting for people with sexual sides, as i also had mental sides but no word of that from this firm.Corporate greed these lawyers are just the same as Merk and dont care about the victims just looking for a fat paycheck…

Lawyer here.

The problem is that we don’t have a baseline for what we were like before propecia. That makes it difficult to prove in a court that propecia caused the changes. Additionally, these firms screen out anyone who took pretty much any other drugs before propecia: anti-depressants, accutane, various antibiotics, etc. They want the simple cases, where they can put forth a plaintiff who was perfectly healthy, then took propecia, and then collapsed.

One thing that would be nice, both for the lawyers and for us as patients, is to have prospective propecia patients take a baseline of blood tests before they go on propecia. Then we would know where people were at pre-propecia. But pretty much nobody does that.

I suspect that the best outcome of the class actions is going to be public outrage at Merck, rather than monetary compensation. This should lead to doctor awareness, hesitation or refusal to give people propecia, and effective treatments.

That will be $1,000.

Same thing happened to me. They said since I’ve taken anti depressants as well that they can no longer represent me. I’m sure that probably conveniently eliminates hundreds, if not thousands of plaintiffs. Who wouldn’t be depressed after going thru something like this?!

I’m confused by the logic of being refused representation on the grounds of taking antidepressant medication. Surely your medical records note that your side effects from finasteride were the reason for the prescription, therefore are established before taking them?

The problem is, the two doctors I went to during the years I took the antidepressants both have since died and who knows where the records from them are. One of the doctors was in his late 70’s and the office was at his house. The other went to Florida after taking advantage of some of his female patients and I had read that he died last year. I never got the records from either of them at the time I stopped going to them because I had no idea I would ever need them.
