Chillns' Hormones 101

If anyone wishes to boost there metabolism, that exact regimen was set out by Chillin over on Crisler’s forum. Also, anyone considering thyroid treatment should read this:

Ok, how much pregnenolone were you taking during phase 1, 2 and 3? Did you take any labs before/during/after the therapy?

3 pumps of life flo a night. 600 mg micronized.

No labs.

If you are stuck in a low-cortisol situation (i.e., sleepiness, fatigue, no motivation, weakness), then you may need more than that. For example, during the transition from phase 2 to phase 3, I ended up with low cortisol symptoms. To get out of the hole, I had to take 500 mg transdermal pregnenolone 3 times a day. After a week on this regimen, I could finally feel high cortisol symptoms and I could back off most of the pregnenolone. Note that 1500 mg TD per day is much more than what you are taking.

At some point, I also tried to switch to micronized rather than TD for practical reasons. But I think that, unfortunately, TD is the way to go.

Also, I have to disagree with chilln on the need of the labs. I think labs can shed light on what’s wrong and can help you connect symptoms to lack of (or excess of) hormones.

To be honest mate, I haven’t got the money to do anymore experimenting so I’m going to leave it that. I appreciate your advice though.

Have supplemented pregnenolone with interval training, and noticed no particular improvement compared to interval training alone. Endurance efforts (e.g. cardio exercise below the anaerobic limit) for periods of longer than 45 minutes invariably lead to exhaustion lasting several days.

How are we going with this treatment? Can anyone give us some updates?

Can we get a few more guys tackling this method and report back?

I’ll report back in my thread as soon as I get new blood and saliva test (in around 10 days)

M_81,

If you had any skin issues, was there any change since you started the preg?

Not sure I understand what you mean with skin issues.
If you mean skin problems arising from rubbing a lot of pregnenolone on my skin, no, I have no issues.
If you mean penile tissue issues, such as wrinkles and shrinkage, I had them very very bad before the treatment and while on pregnenolone only. Now, they are better, although a little fluctuating.

That’s good news… hope the fluctuations go away and improvement continues.

I meant skin issues as in folliculitis, acne, eczema, etc on your face or back.

I have read cortisol issues could cause skin problems, which I’m having off and on. Hoping preg could be an answer.

m_81, can you please post up links to the pregnenolone product you are using? also, your schedule/ dosing of other meds would be useful.

It sounds like you are doing it properly and sticking with it!

Who is chilin, is he a doctor?

I started with life-flo TD pregnenolone, but I soon realized that it is very inconvenient (and damn expensive) for the dosages I need – currently, around 400-500 mg a day. So, I make my own pregnenolone gel by mixing pregnenolone powder and aloe vera gel. I don’t think you can get the powder from the UK though. Schedule and quantities depend on need. I’m taking the following daily:
-50 mcg T4
-20-35 mcg slow release T3
-400-500 mg transdermal pregnenolone
-40-100 mg transdermal progesterone
-hydrocortisone only when needed
-maca and TestoPlex

No, he’s a moderator on Crisler’s forum (musclechatroom.com).

And how are you feeling, sexually?

He’s just a regular guy on a message forum…no medical background or anything???

Is anyone still doing treatments along these lines apart from M81?

I still believe it is a very good hormonal treatment despite not getting any sustained results myself as it addresses adrenals and thyroid very well.

The fact that it is promoted across Crisler’s board so heavily and yet nobody is making threads with positive feedback is of concern though.

Another good drug therapy to post may be Crisler’s clomid therapy. Apparently 12.5 mg clomid daily together with hydrocortisone. Might be one for the self treatment guys?

Over at All Things Male, chilln seems confident that he has the right treatment to PFS, and that treatment is to raise resting metabolic rate.

How to increase resting metabolic rate

  1. Diet Optimization:

a) Optimize consumption of natural foods only

eg: reduce high GI carb consumption to prevent reduction in leptin sensitivity and insulin sensitivity
eg: introduce 50 grams protein-at-wake time to increase leptin sensitivity and insulin sensitivity
eg: reduce consumption of high mercury fish, to reduce mercury levels
eg: introduce sardines consumption to obtain EPA and DHA, if these were missing.
eg: supplement with probiotics and digestive enzymes, to restore their levels when too-low-cortisol and too-low-thyroid hormone levels limit gut bacteria growth generally and limit enzyme production around meal times.

b) Consume natural food isolates to restore levels of these molecules to youthful, but not beyond.

eg: supplement with Vit D because our sunlight exposure is inadequate to maintain Vit D levels of our youth (when we spent lots of time outdoors).
eg: boost seratonin around evening meal times, to restore youthful seratonin levels which keep hunger minimized.

Any try this protocol?

Sorry but this is complete nonsense. He even admits it himself:

If you think the effects of androgen/neurosteroid deprivation therapy can be easily cured by diet modification, good luck.

first week of 25 mcg T4, it changed something, absolutely different.
