Chest Pains?

im a 28yr old male. i was on propecia for around 4yrs, stopped for 1yr and then started back up for 1yr. all of my health problems started to happen when i got back on propecia for that last year. i started getting pain in my penis and testicles, etc, and major fatigue. then one day, i got pretty sever chest pains along with feeling very sick and had to go to the hospital more then once. all these symptoms have been going on for about 1 1/2 yrs now. recently i even started having stomach problems.

i know ed and groin pains are common, but has anyone noticed chest pains too? my symptoms are so bad that i have not been able to work since all of this started. are most of the users on this site able to go and do a normal 8hr work day?

ive been to just about every kind of doctor that i can think of. no one can tell me whats going on.

btw, im glad this site is making the move to more user friendly forums. keep up the good work guys.

i havent worked for a month+ altough i want :imp:
ive had chest pains and also some …breast pain god
i quit smoking when this whole shit began and thought to myself the pains are from the ciggarettes *(turns out theyre not)

Yea, I had chest pains starting at month 6 out of 11. It was the beginning of Gyno for me.

I am currently experiencing chest pain around the sternum, and have heart palpitations at times for minutes up to a few hours especially at night. This has been ongoing for about a ~month.

First thing Monday morning I am scheduling an appointment with a heart specialist. I was able to correlate (though not completely confirm) this with finasteride. I too suffer from brain fog, concentration and difficulty articulating.

I am working at an IT helpdesk so you can imagine the frustration. It hasnt escalated to the point that i cannot work.

I have been taking Proscar since about 2 years. After a couple of months I started to suffer from strange abdominal pains. The pain feels like a knife entering between my chest ribs for just a couple of seconds and then disappears. It happens in different places of my chest, but started around my sternum. In the last 2 years of daily use of Proscar my pain was getting worst, more frequent and more expanded in all my chest. In addiction to this I started to suffer from some intestinal disfunction (big amounth of gas and pain around my belly), lost of sight and lost of concentration. My doctor can still not find any explanation to what I am experiencing. I had several scan (thorax), ultrasound scans, blood tests but nothing looks physical un-normal in my body. The last year I came across panic attack, because of fear of cigarette smoke So my doctor put everything on the emotional/psychological side. He think I could suffer from stress. The fact is I am not feeling stressed at all. Thus, I am starting to relate my problems to the use of Proscar. One month ago I quited Proscar. I am not noticing any particular improvement and still suffer from this pain.
Does anybody have similar problems and can suggest me what to do? Any particular test? Recovering suggestions?
Many thanks for all reactions!

Did you test your ESTROGEN (Estradiol, Estrone, Estriol) levels?? Finasteride can increase estrogen levels in men by blocking DHT, thus Testosterone that would normally convert to DHT cannot and aromatizes into Estrogen instead.

In addition, I’d test Prolactin and Progesterone. If you could post your previous hormone tests with ranges in the Hormones & Bloodtests section, we could give you some feedback.

1 month is a short period of time off the drug after 2 years, give yourself more time.

“Yea, I had chest pains starting at month 6 out of 11. It was the beginning of Gyno for me.”

It was the same for me. I started getting tachycardia, gyno, fatigue, hot flashes, and chest pain all around the same time.

the same for me

Yeah, I had this the first two months on Propecia–it, gyno, went away after a while though.

Thank you guys for all reactions. It is a big trust for me to know I am not alone going across this hell of situation.

Questions:

  • I stopped one month ago taking Proscar. Will this take me back to the old one in months/years? Will my hormonal levels go back to the old one by themself?

  • or do I really need to start a hormonal cure to bring me back to the original levels?

Thanks!

Only way to know is to get regular bloodtests per propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92

… and keep track of what’s going on, if things are low or high out of range etc.

Your results, over time, should dictate the course of action when working with a competent doctor or endocrinologist.

The chest pains subsided within a couple months of stopping (when the hot flashes stopped)…

Is there any supplement one can take to elivated this?

Kiss my Anthium,

Are you having stomach problems? Are they in the abdominal area or chest area?

I know this is an old thread but I sometimes get some sort of pressure on my chest when I breathe - at the middle of it. Not around nipples. Not exactly a pain but it’s like when I breathe, something’s pricking on my chest. This does not look like gyno. What could it be? Does this have something to do with Fin? Or is it something different?

Hi Gennaro.
my problems looks like a lot yours.
I take from 11 months propecia 1mg/day and from a month i feel 10/20 times a day chest twinges on and off.
it’s not a real pain looks like more an ailment.
i have done electrocardiogram and a complete abdomen ultrasound. But everything is good
i smoke 20 cigarettes a day and take a coffees too.
I stopped propecia from 2 weeks and I feels a better tomorrow, but I reduced cigarettes and coffee.
Tomorrow I’ll start again Propeecia and I’ll reduce more cigarettes.
I’ ll let you know if Propecia will be the cause(i hope no :frowning: )
Are you Italian?

I to am experiencing this now after being off finasteride for a year…Those who have read Mt threads know now in addition to going all this weight/fluid like 30lbs in last 7 months…I am having bad stomach and chest pains with terrible discomfort…It’s like severe gas and heart burn combinef…Also interrupts breathing at times…Antacids don’t provide much relief…But probably all theses symptoms are to due to high estrogen levels along with the tremendous anxiety and stress this syndrome causes in addition to every thing else…my libido is great…No sexual problems but massive weight gain along with former mentioned issues.

Adrenal fatigue and low cortisol also causes anxiety and severe gas / gut problems as your body will struggle to deal with stress.

I have big digestive problems , but fortunately after the spf I only had a decreased libido on sexual side.
Between muscle atrophy and loss of weight , I lost 24 kg from the suspension .

Yes I had it.
