Cap's Bloodwork

I posted an anecdotal version of my bloods earlier but after some thought I figured that wouldn’t be much use to the foundation if they’re using this stuff for some kind of database, so I took the time to type it all out. This is my bloodwork from about a month ago. That’s 7-8 months off Finasteride. The tl;dr version is everything is fine except my T is tanked, thyroid is pumping out reverse T3, folate & B-vitamins low, red blood cells semi low, liver not doing as well as it should. Estrogen was not tested.

Testosterone Total: 438 (Range: 250-1100) ng/dL
Free T: 72.5 (Range: 35-155)pg/mL
DHT: 25 (Range: 16-79)ng/dL

She said the lab uses goofy ranges, so to interpret it correctly, the T should be 900+, Free T should be 200+, and DHT should be 65+.

FSH 2.4 (1.5-12.4)mIU/ml
LH 4.2 (1.7-8.6)mIU/ml

TIBC 331 (250-400)ug/dL
% Saturation 20 (15-50)%
T4 (Thyroxine) 12.3 (4.5-12.5)ug/dL
TSH .92 (.45-4.50)mU/L

DHEA 668 (280-640)ug/dL
Ferritin (stored iron) 205 (18-370)ng/mL

PSA, FREE .37
PSA, TOTAL .6

Those two had to do with my prostate. I don’t see ranges on the page but she said they were fine.

Cortisol AM 20.4 (4.0-22.00)ug/dL
Microsomal TPO-Ab 17 (<35)IU/ml
Thyroglobulin Antibodies <20 (<41)IU/ml
IGF-I, LC/MS 226 (63-373)ng/mL
Z-SCORE (MALE) .6 (-2.0 - +2.0SD)
CRP 1.1 H (<1.0)mg/L
Hemoglobin A1c 4.9 (<5.7)%
Vitamin B12 606 (243-894)pg/mL (she said it should be 900+)
Folate 9.3 (>7.2)ng/mL (should be 20+)
Osmolality, Calc. 290 (275-295)m0sm/kg
Protein, Total 7.3 (6.0-8.0)g/dL
Albumin 5.0 H (3.3-4.9)g/dL
Globulin 2.3 (2.0-3.7)g/dL
ALB/GLOB Ratio 2.2 H (1.0-2.0)
Cholesterol 153 (<200) mg/dL
Triglyceride 65 (<150)mg/dL
Calcium 9.7 (8.7-10.5)mg/dL
Phosphorus (Inorganic) 3.6 (2.5-4.5)mg/dL
Alkaline Phosphatase 37 L (40-129) IU/L
GGT 14 (5-80)IU/L
ALT 8 (5-60)IU/L
AST 18 (10-50)IU/L
Lactic Dehydrogenase 145 (112-245)IU/L
Bilirubin, Total .8 (.2-1.3) mg/dL
Iron 66 (40-190)ug/dL
WBC 6.5 (4.0-11.0)k/mm3
RBC 4.73 (4.30-6.00)m/mm3

There’s a page of stuff after those last two that has to do with my blood but I don’t feel like typing it all out and it was all fine anyway.

I’ll post the values later, but I just got another round of bloods back and to my surprise my T and Free T have doubled. It’s still out of the lower end of the range so it’s more like I went from legally dead to an older dude. I don’t feel much different but I take it as a good sign. My thyroid appears to be slowly fixing itself as well. The amount of Reverse T3 or whatever lowered slightly. I’m hoping my massive hair loss slows down as the thyroid repairs itself, though I suspect it’s more due to being hyper sensitive to androgens/DHT now, so I’m pretty much fucked. I also got estrogen tested and while it wasn’t astronomical it was still high. She started me on licorice extract which is a natural AI with the option of moving to something hardcore like arimidex in the future. So we’ll see.

Also, in reading up on licorice root, I found the following:

So if Fina’s theory is correct maybe it’ll help there, too.

EDIT: Although I just found this article, which has me worried.

I’ll speak with the doctor about it.
