Can only give me a non-hormonal reason why i've got worse over a year?

Can they?

I quit finasteride 17th March 2010 due to a loss in libido. Nothing crazy.

Over the course of the next 12 months OFF:

From month 1-2 onwards… - Watery semen

Month 3-5 - Libidio continues to lessen

Month 6-8 - Continued loss of libido, erectile performance gradually getting worse

Month 8-11 - Penis pain, atrophy, really noticable loss of girth

My estrogen levels were first taken Last October, they were high and still are. FSH has got lower and lower seemingly. Yet, testosterone and LH are okay. High SHBG.

WTF?

Apart from a negative feedback loop, what can explain this?

Surely this doesn’t fit into the conventional androgen resistence theory or damage to the reductabase considering things have worsened since ive went off it? Please note i didn’t have any “crash” either, things just slowly got worse. I believe im “stable” now. But “stable” as in i am sexually half the man i was. Stable as i need help.

Something sent my body into retreat…

I could ask the same question… Although I did crash!

Only thing i can think off is negative feedback loop. Interested to hear how my DHT receptors became worse over time (post fin) or how my DHT production worsened due to reductabase damage (post fin). The fact is our symptoms are complicated though :frowning:

Colin297 - My symptoms have developed slowly over time like yours. Initially ED and no libido, then PDE-5 inhibitors quit working (about 2 yrs out), then shrinkage set in (about 3 yrs out). I’m not sure if I’m stable or not. I’m better than I was a year ago, mostly because my nocturnals have returned fairly strongly. When I exercise I really shrivel up, although I’ve seen on some running sites other people have this issue who aren’t fin damaged.

Glad to hear you’ve made some progress!

Have you tried levitra? It seems to have the most success rate for us guys.

Have you tried any treatments? I’m starting aromasin and possibly clomid next week.

I have tried levitra, but it doesn’t work that well for me. For me Cialis worked like gangbusters for the first year and half. Using only 10 mg I was like a high school kid. Then I went to 20 mg for about 6 months and that quit working reliably. About the same time I developed this tingling on the back of my testicles that is still there. I saw a urologist about it and he blew me off. The 3rd year I switched to Viagra which worked well for about a year and then quit. So now I rotate the 3 (viagra, cialis, levitra) every other week to to try to reduce tolerance. I think this slow degradation in the effectiveness of PDE-5 inhibitors is related to a problem with our Nitric oxide synthases which is an enzyme that catalyze the production of nitric oxide (NO). Fin is known to interfere with this enzyme. Somehow over time this interference gets worse such that pde-5 inhibitors barely work anymore. For some it is immediate, for me it took 3 years but I’m there.

I don’t agree with this last part

I think you simply develop a tolerance for the drugs. Happens to many many PDE-inhibitor users. Nothing fin related.

A problem with our Nitric oxide synthases wouldn’t just be related to tolerance with PDE-5 inhibitor, but with ED in general. It could be that originally this enzyme was degraded by fin (this is documented) but still functional, such that even though we had ED, we could manage it. Anyway just another theory but it makes sense with how fin affects Nitric oxide synthases which is directly related to PDE-5 effectiveness.
