Calcitriol Supplementation - Bio-Active Vit D3

Hey Guys,
Has anybody here started supplementing with Calcitriol? There are 3 forms of Vitamin D3 and this is the only one our body can use. The other two must be converted first by other enzymes and hormones and I feel like perhaps our bodies cannot properly make the conversion and that’s why we all have low vitamin d3 levels.

I tried supplementing with d3 as cholecaliciferol but I didn’t really notice an effect and I’m thinking perhaps our bodies aren’t making the right enzymes to convert this into the active form. Apparently some enzyme made by the Parathyroid hormone helps control this and it gets synthesized in the kidneys or something.

Also, for some reason you need a prescription to get Calcitriol… go figure. I just bought it yesterday and I’m now supplementing with .25 mcg a day… I feel like that’s too low, but whatever, we’ll see.

Also, if you do get it, make sure to take it with some fatty food as its a fat soluble vitamin.

this is very good point. liver and kidneys are involved here, and I think our liver is sluggish not doing it’s job.
how are you feeling after supplementation.
