Anybody here been tested positive for c diff?..I was and was prescribed flagyl or vanco…which one should I take? Any recommendations?
Was this the only pathogen you were tested for? If not, what others?

Yes. It was clostridium difficile…I did basically three tests at the GI doctor for parasites/bacteria but don’t know the specifics…ill track down the tests next time im at the doctor…this was the only one that came up positive. I’m currently leaning toward the vancomycin to give me the best chance to get rid of it… Also what’s the antibiogramm?? Gonna have to Research that.
what else did your doctor say? why did you goto a GI doctor in the first place? did you have certain symptoms that made you want to go?
ah ok! A antibiogramm show on which antibiotics the bacterium is sensitiv or not, so you can give one that works. 100%
@bryce- my symptoms started out as stools that were light and oily & developed into loose stools that break up as soon as they hit the water…sometimes completely loose…also had an itchy anus and stools that smelled different or a little off(not sure how else to describe it). It’s hard to tell when this started but it got much worse after augmentin & cipro. …also the doc didn’t say much else & i didn’t even talk about other sexual symptoms…I’ve been beat down by too many dr’s & didnt have the energy for that with this doc.

I know “golf” mentioned possibly getting tested for this… But I never heard any further… I’m starting vancomycin alongside diflucan as soon as I can scrape together the 500+ dollars (after insurance)
