my dad actually suggested this to me. If we buy even just one share of merck’s stock we can join in on any share holders meetings maybe we could get some inside information on how they are dealing with the lawsuits and the protests.
Although I understand the thinking here, I highly doubt that this sort of info is discussed at board meetings available to the general shareholders. It seems to me that they would keep these discussions behind closed doors for this very reason.
Something else crossed my mind when i read this. I thought the idea was for many of us to buy the stocks and then sell at the same time, trying to trigger some herd behavior, making other stockholders to sell. But stuff like this only works when there is bad news to back it up. It would take a lot of people to make it work too.
It would take A LOT of people and more importantly A LOT of $$$$. But a nice idea for any millionaire members here.
One could buy a stock to enter the shareholder meeting asking questions and staging a protest against Fin in front of their shareholders. That would surely get hurt them and probably get some media coverage.
ya that was another idea, i was thinking i could disrupt the meeting and then join the protesters outside. Sadly propecia has left me limp and in massive debt I am working 70 hour weeks just to pay it off. Hopefully soon i can make my way to Merck headquarters, they need are help in protesting.
