I’ve been a big eater of broccoli for a while now, which is high in diindolymethane (DIM). I just found out what in the world broccoli sprouts are. Apparently these sprouts are high in sulforaphane, which increases the action/number of phase II detoxification enzymes in the liver. Apparently the sprouts have 30-50x the number of sulforaphane than mature broccoli, but I found no mention of the DIM between the two.
My two questions are:
- What the hell is the difference between DIM and sulforaphane?
- Think increasing these phase II detoxifying enzymes could help with lingering finasteride side effects? I’m not sure if this is the same question as grapefruit interactions with drugs.
