I went to a doctor in January 2009 because i want to prevent the on set of baldness for as long as i could, for the simple reason that did not want to lose my hair. i heard about Propecia a few years before when i first noticing the hair going, the doctor didn’t even know about the drug when i asked about trying it for my problem. so after another consultation he advice me i could start it but informed me there where possible side effects, low libido and reduced seamen and if i was thinking of starting a family i needed to stop a few months before proceeding with that. he then said if symptoms of side effects showed that stopping the drug would revert things to normal again. in his defense, he was reading from Propecia’s fact sheet.

so i started the drug and sure enough it started to work at about three months, brilliant; everything was great for the next 12 months
until i started noticing a significant loss of muscle mass and increased fatigue with headaches. things kept getting worse and then i decided to stop for a while as i had exams coming up and figured i would start after exams finished. so after the exams where over i never started immediately again on the drug, i stayed of it for 5 to 6 months. In that time i had severe pain in the testicles, i went to the doctor and though that it just was them reverting back to normal again and things would be OK in time, he gave me some medication and eventually the pain subsided. So stupidly i eventually went back on it again. The next 6 months on the drug where horrible, near the end of that period i had all the old symptoms and some new ones, i could not leave the house or talk to my friends down the pub, as i was nervous and could not speak properly, i had very a dry mouth and could not get my words out. I was seriously depressed and suffering some sort of panic disorder, I went to a neighbors funeral and almost collapsed when i had to talk to his wife, my balance left me and almost passed out. This symptom has been the worst for me quite a few times. I cant think straight, have a feeling of being spaced out, soar head all day and periodic heart palpation’s or a feeling of flopping in my chest. I went to my doctor about the chest problem, but all results say my heart is fine.

Well thats about it, well what i remember now anyway, if i could turn back the clock, i would never take that poison again knowing what i know now.

feel free to ask any questions

I am sorry for you man.
I know these Feelings.
Dont you have any Improvment, for muscle loss or Brainfog??

Hi boney,

I have had the same mental sides as you and I have recovered 100% but I have not recovered physically yet.

I recommend you try a 4 day water fast that really helped my mental sides also you should take amino acids for atleast 2 months. Another thing that might help your mental sides is progesterone cream.

Well thats great Mark, You have actually cheered me up, if your body has recovered from the mental side, maybe in time the rest will follow with some sort of other protocol, keep looking for answers. Ive been looking through some sites in the effort to understand more about the bodys hormone systems and found this interesting to read,

lef.org/protocols/male_repro … on_les.htm

What amino acids did you take?

Hi there,
No not as yet, but Mark2012, said his has went away by taking some amino acids and changing his diet. i dont know his methods yet, waiting for him to reply

Hi There,

The thing that helped me the most with my mental sides was water fasting.

Can I ask are you able to enjoy alcohol ? Its only in the last few weeks that I’ve been able to get drunk again. Not being able to get drunk is one of the many PFS side effects.

Also I think another major factor in my mental sides getting better was time.

Hi there
Well i always loved my pints, but in October 2013 i decided to stop as i would have a hangover for at least 4days when ever i drank, i had a few drinks at Christmas with family and it was ok, again 3-4 days feeling ill, but im over 40 now and i think that is normal for some people. the reason i stopped mainly was to let my system operate at its best to try and fecking clear my head and fatigue up, but No joy as yet. Life in general is less enjoyable so drinking in this state will probably be too.

I would say i got drunk easier, but age is probably causing it.

Well that is a comfort to hear, some light further down the road, fingers crossed, I’ve been feeling like this around 15months, Im going to try what you mentioned, i might try the amino acid L-Glutamine & L-Carnitine, and high doses of vitamins B,E,D along with Zinc and Fish oil. Time to hit the weights again too, I did alot of weights years ago; and you know your alive when your in good shape. make you feel good inside.

I’ll keep you informed if anything changes for the good.

I’m a little confused, because in another post you said, “I dont think it was the water fast, I did not notice any mental benefits from the last water fast I did.” But in this post and some others you say it did help you. Could you clarify that? Not trying to call you out or anything, just would like to know if it was really effective or not.

I’m saying that the first 4 day water fast I did helped my mental sides a lot. But I didnt notice any long term benefits from the 7 day fast I did back in february but by that time most of my metal sides had cleared up.

Oh ok, thanks. That makes more sense. That’s pretty awesome you had such great results from a 4 day fast. I thought you had to do two weeks or so to really see any benefits.

well i had a few blood test done but could not get the doctor to do some of the recommended ones, i dont know anywwhere else in my local area that will do them.

I have tried some of the advice mentioned here about how to clear up brain fog; and have had minior success, the headaches have reduced somewhat, but i am still having anxiety and mild panic attacks periodicly. I have changed my diet to contain only wholesome foods with plenty of protein from good sources; and lowered my carb intake, and cut out caffeine.

I have also started st. johns wort last week from advice from my doc. they say if it hasn’t worked after 6 weeks; it probably will not be any benefit continuing after that period. I have also bought some amino acids L-Glutamine & dL-Phenylalanine, but think i’ll wait till i finish the st.johns before i start supplementing with them, there are a few others i plan to take aswell, (5HTP or/ Tryptophan to raise Serotonin levels), (GABA, Taurine, and/or Theanine to raise GABA levels)

if i have any change for the better i’ll post them

Best of luck everone
