this is very understandable HCG mimics LH and thus suppresses LH from pituitary. you can find old posts from hypo or can google.

This is incorrect, HCG stimulates LH. The key is you would not want to do it for more than few weeks. It is true that Clomid & HCG often provide great results together. But, it really doesn’t matter because I doubt I will need to use it again.
I have been having very good results with the items I mentioned earlier in my thread. I don’t think the HCG is the reason why. I was supposed to take a second dose of the HCG a couple of days ago. I let the period pass and didn’t take it. I feel as good as I have in years.
One other thing I should mention is that I am using one other supplement that I just started last week and forgot to mention. Inhibit-E. There is another guy on this forum who said he used this and two other T increasing supplements and said he recovered. I am guessing this is part of the reason why.
Bostonusa,
Please keep us posted on your end results with inhibit E. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.
CD,
I think the inhibit E is helping, but It’s hard for me to say because I’m using several different things. I did start taking it the very week that I began to make significant improvemenets though. When I had blood tests done, I always thought my E was too high for a young man, regardless of what the doctors told me. At least the inhibit E is a non pharmaceutical and inexpensive.
I continue to feel better. I have been very mentally sharp, very physically strong, incredibly energetic. I feel very agressive, like a man is supposed to feel.
I have been having sexual responses when I think about a new girl that I like. I have gotten spontaneous erections many times over the last couple of weeks. I have had partial morning wood several days this week, just not full on erections. Overall, it just feels like I am alive again.
I will up date again next week and let you guys know if I continue to improve.
That’s excellent Boston. Thanks for the update and please do keep us posted.
So now that i have been dianosed as having hypothyroidism, it brings a question "can thyroid problems cause low testosterone, low LH and other sexual problems.
Check out this study, that shows that hypothyroidism has been shown to reduce serum T or Free Testosterone in men.
It also suggests that, The level of estradiol was similar in both the groups, suggesting a greater conversion rate of testosterone to estradiol in subclinically hypothyroid males

Here’s a converstation about a guy who has a thyroid problem and low T. Someone suggests Low thyroid results in insulin resistance. While this one is certainly not a medical study. Maybe we can find a study to verfiy this.
It just so happens that my blood test came back with high blood sugar as well, which is also a sign of insulin resistance.
I just completed a follow up phone consultation with my doctor to review my blood test and get treatment.
The first words out of his mouth, “You clearly have low Throid” “hypothyroidism”
He commented also said my Vit C, Potasium & Magnesium was low.
He has prescribed Armour in a compounded combination of T3 & T4 custom for my situation; and ADR an adrenal gland product. He commented that my Free T was low and we could use TRT or wait and see if fixing the thyroid will resolve the testosterone problem. Of course I’m opting to wait on that one. So I should begin with this treatment as early as tomorrow. I’ll keep you guys updated on any improvements.
Also, if you guys are seeing a doctor who is not helping you. Seek out a better doctor. It took me 6 doctors to figure out I had a thyroid problem.
Congrats on finding this out - hope it fixes your issues.
Did he test those other levels via blood or hair? curious if he also tested copper.
thanks golf,
He did not test for Copper, but I discussed this metal toxicity subject with him. He said it is a possibility it could be caused from this and we could test for it on the next visit.
Boston,
Its good to see someone is helping you out. I am just wondering how did he test for Vit C? I thought the only Vit tests via blood are D and B12? Did he use some other method to test the other vitamins? I was way low on Vit D before supplementing, so I might be low on other vitamins too. I am going to have hair analysis done soon.
next month, I will also talk with Shippen about the TRH stimulation, as my thyroid blood tests are “in range”.
Hey texas,
I’m not sure how he was able to test for those in blood. I don’t know much about that. This doctor is very highly regarded on the level chrisler/shippen, so imagine he did the test properly.
From what I have read people with thyroid problems typically have low Vit D, Low Vit C, Low Potassium and often low Magnesium and Vit B as well.
I just noticed your post on adrenals. You clearly have a problem and I’m sure you have heard already thyroid and adrenal problemss often go hand in hand.
I would try to get the TRH test done if I were you. Rememeber the TSH test is useless because it’s not accurate. Several of us have already been told by one doctor that we don’t have a thyroid problem, only to find out we were misdiagnosed.
I thought post a little update. I have been on Armour for 1 week now. I seem to be sleeping even better than usual. I didn’t have real bad sleep problems, but now it seems I have been getting a very deep sleep. When I wake, I feel amazingly refreshed.
I also noticed that just before I wake, I seem to be getting morning wood. Now, it’s weird because when I do wake I have nothing. So I’m not sure exactly when this happening, I may be an hour or two before I wake. I would imagine this could be good, but I just want to keep even keeled and not set myself up to be disappointed. I recall having this probably every night for the last 4 or 5 nights.
Also, I started using Bile ACid Factors last night with dinner. I feel a little out of it and feel a slight pressure in the area of the prostate. I have never had this before off or on the pill; and I have been off about 1.5 years.
I suspect it’s from the Bile Acid, but I’m not sure if the Armour is playing some role as well. I obviously read the post from “Letsconvenience”, but what sold me is It had great write ups, so I thought it would be worth a try. I had read that it works to remove Gallstones and liver bile. It’s seems strange that I would feel a sensation in the prostate area.
Good or bad I’ll update again as I notice new changes.
Are you trying the bile because of letsconvenience’s post or at your docs suggestion? Perhaps it would be wise to bring it up to him if your trying somthing else new as your just starting armour as well - you dont know which one is doing what if your starting them at the same time.
Golf, It’s probably a valid point, but Bile acid is a supplement not a prescription. Also, I will probably be on armour for a long time. I know this is not the only thing I’m going to do to make myself better.
Also, I mentioned why decided to try bile acid. I did first read about it in his thread, but the reviews on line about the product are good.
Hey Boston,
Is your doc doing phone appointments? I think I would like to get all my vitamins tested before popping pills. I could also check on the TRH stimulation test with him. Thanks.

I did phone consultation with him, but I had to go visit him in person first. For you, your really far from him so maybe they could facilitate a phone consultation and have you do labs where your at. I’ll PM you his info. He’s a little pricey like most of these doctor’s that have a good reputation. If you do decide to do something with them, talk them down on Price. I’m not real well off financially right now. They worked with me on the price.
I agree about the pill thing, that’s why I have waited more than a year to try anything. There are so many of us that have not recovered after several years though.
The product I’m using, Armour is a natural disccated thyroid product. It’s actually pig thyroid. It’s kind of weird to think about it, but it’s not like using a synthetic product. Those are manufactured and your body would be more likely to react negatively to it. It certainly seems to be working though.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that has been taking thyroid medication and has improved because of it. After about a month I bet you’ll feel as if you’ve practically made a full recovery. Your metabolism should increase, you’ll start sweating more, you’ll have better circulation, your fingernails and hair should start to grow more. You’ll also notice a change in pigmentation in your skin, you’ll have a lot more color in you. You’ll might also have an increased appettite, food will taste much better as well.
I believe the pressure in your head will eventually dissipate as well after you’re on the the thyroid medication long enough. The pressure started to get worse before it got better for me, but the pain in my head went away when at the same time I started sweating on my scalp.
I really believe propecia has caused us to develop thyroid problems. I just wish I knew how Fin could cause problems with the thyroid gland.

Thanks Dury, for letting me know it has really helped you with moving towards a recovery. Did you have low free Testosterone before taking the medication? If so, did the levels improve once your thyroid levels got back to a healthy level. I’m hoping this is case, as my level was still low on my last test and want to avoid having use something like trt to improve it.
Also, what thyroid medication are you using? Is it Armour, Nature or a synthetic product; and how much is your dosage and body weight? I ask because while I have felt a lot of positive improvements, but I suspect my dosage could be a little higher. I am currently on 1 grain of Armour per day (60mg).
There may be hope that our Thyroid glands kick back in again, so don’t lose hope in that regard. I have researched this and it can happen.
We’re on very different types of thyroid medication.
I’m on Synthroid which only produces synethetic Thyroxine. My dosage is much smaller than yours. I’m only at .125 mg and I believe it is probably too high for me right now. I’m a fairly small guy at 130 lbs. I actually lost around 15-20 lbs. while I was on Fin. My appearance was zombielike.
I believe my medication is much stronger and potent than what you’re taking.
My Testosterone levels were actually within range, though I do believe they were quite low for someone like myself.
Testosterone Total: 429 Range 250-1100
Testosterone Free Percent: 1.74 Range 1.5-2.2
Free Testosterone: 74.6 Range 35-155
FSH: 1.9
LH: 2.7
Prolactin 10.2
Those tests are actually about 4 months old though, I’m awaiting recent tests.
I think Fin causes thyroid problems in us that leads to our body producing less of basically everything else. Once it recovers it starts to produce more of what our bodies actually need.
In a certain way I do think Fin has caused us neurological problems that probably couldn’t be treated with TRT or HCG anyways as our body would never naturally produce these things due to our thyroid problems.
My theory is that Fin causes our bodies to not produce enough T4(Throxyine). Which causes an impairment in our NGF(Nerve Growth Factor) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerve_growth_factor
Throxyine has been shown to increase the concentration of NGF in the brains of adult mice, it probably has the same effect on us as well.
The importanance of T4 cannot be understated en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyroxine
I think I’m going to have to go on a lower dose. It feels like I have gone through such a drastic change my body can’t keep up. I have this feeling in my head that is quite hard to discribe. Though brain fog is practically gone and my blury unfocused vision has lessened. I do believe my theory to have some credibility based on my results.
I believe in time our bodies will naturally recover as our thyroid does.

Dury,
I guess we do have one thing in common, I also lost weight on this poison pill, but it was muscle weight. I was a body builder type. I used to weigh 185. I’m now 170, so I lost 15lbs of muscle.
Regarding your T levels being in the range, I think you need to look at where you are at in the range.
Your at 16% of your total T and 26% of your Free T. This is why ranges are BS. If you’re a young guy you should be in the top third of the range. Your in the bottom 25%, although I will say your free T seems to better than most here.
Have you researched using synthetic thyroid medicines vs. Natural thyroid meds? I did a good amount of research on these medications when I suspected I was hypothyroid. The vast majority of people see better results on the natural thyroid meds like Armour and Nature Thyroid.
If this is the case, why would doctor’s even prescribe synthetic products at all? Simply because the big pharmaceutical companies and their drug reps give them financial incentive to write more of those scripts. If you haven’t considered this, I would take a look at some of the posts on this subject at this thyroid forum.
