bostonusa2009's story

bluejaysfan,

thanks for the tip. I’ll give the Cal G a try. I also agree that it is probably likely that many of us have multiple programs going on from this drug. Let’s hope we can remove this theorized digestive infection, bacteria or parasite soon and move on to what it is left.

I met with the gastro doctor on Monday. He reviewed my blood results with me and we discussed my Propecia problems. He didn’t have a lot to say about it, but this guy is actually a real nice guy and admitted that they(drs) don’t know everything. He said my AST liver result was only slightly elevated, so I shouldn’t be overly concerned. But, none the less I still am.

We are going to do a new set of blood work to include some items related to the liver, that were not on the first test. He set me up with an ultra sound of my liver. I asked him what he would be looking for specifically and said fatty areas of the liver. I actually had the test done this morning and will have the results next week. I spoke with the technician doing the test and she said the test also provides information regarding if the blood flow through the liver is adequate. I will have a copy of the results mailed to me, so I don’t have to simply take the doctor’s word that everything is fine.

I will post the results once I get them.

When I was sitting waiting for the doctor I noticed the graphic on the wall, that mentioned the livers critical role in secreting hormones in the body. I have not seen much focus on this particular area on this site. I’m sure it was mentioned some where.

If the liver is acting as a final system to secrete hormones such as testosterone, this could explain why many of us don’t see good results on Test replacement therapies. If it has to be processed through our liver and it isn’t functioning properly, this offers a counter theory to androgen insensitivity.

Cal G is supposed to reduce estrogen through the liver. Could be another benefit?

The user “proscarred” has put his focus on the liver. You might want to correspond with him or read some of his threads.

ok, I 'll look over what he has discovered. Have you noticed any benefits from the cal g?

I received the result of my Ultra Sound of my Abdomen.

THis is exactly how the letter reads:

I have not had enough time to do a thorough research of the test results, which I plan to do today. The biggest concern is determining if
the polyp is cancerous. I did find online that polyps of less than 1cm are rarely cancerous. I have a follow up apt with the doctor who ordered this test next week. So essentially the liver and gallbladder are not functioning properly, although the letter doesn’t specifically offer much detail about the liver.

Have you had any indication that you could have gall bladder problems before? I have a friend who takes supplements to get the gall bladder to cycle it’s contents faster and she says it helps with digestion.

Martin,

I have have never had a gall bladder problem prior to using finasteride nor has anyone in family.

Hey Bluejaysfan,

How is this working for you? Any improvements worth noting?

If it’s working for you, what brand are you using?

thanks, bostonusa
