boston332's story

Treatment takes time, results dont happen over 1 or 2 weeks… Also, you don’t have any neurotransmitter tests done…you maybe low on neurotransmitters. Talk to your doctor.

Which nerotransmitter tests? So far neither Jacobs or Shippen have even mentioned this issue (maybe Im not far along enough in the treatment protocols yet). There is a test for this Anonn? Which is it please so I can ask for it?

As far as mental sides go mainly its the depression for me which is constant. Also, some short term memory issues and stumbling for words on occasion.

Although I think Jacobs is my best hope I think its odd he wants me to go straight to TRT without trying other things first. Super smart guy and great doc, Im sure he has a reason, but I just cant figure it. But after this T3/clomid cycle I might try it. Iwontgiveup seems to be having success with TRT/wellbutrin combo.

The reason why Iwontgiveup is having success is because he is increasing the amount of dopamine in his body which may of been low, and blocking noepinhrine that is below the waist(he is using YukonYohimbine for that).

I’m sure the TRT is helping with energy, and maybe aiding in libidio, but it seems like addressing the neurological aspect of his body delivered the results he was looking for.

I’ve said this once and will say it again, finasteride destroyed any balance that our body had. Finasteride did this by 1.) Increasing Estrogen 2.) Disrupting Thyroid Functin 3.)After this has occured, Neurotransmitter signaling is disrupted. For some, there is a HGH deficiency and Testosterone deficiency. Now you have fibromyalgia/CFS, a very complex disease, that should only be treated the best of best doctors.

Latest Thyroid Labs - taken day BEFORE starting T3 cycle.

T3 - 3.6, 2.3-4.2
TSH - 1.19, 0.32-5.00
T4 - 1.10, 0.71-1.85
RT3 - 27, 11-32

So, Im on T3 for another month. Then I cycle back down and restart it. I kind of want to try some TRT while doing this… dunno if thats a good idea.

thoughts?

You have no reason to be on t3

Yea, I dont get it either. The only answer I got was “we all have messed up thyroids” although mine looks fine. The guy has probably treated more of us than any other doc over the years and he knows his stuff very well but I just dont get the reasoning. My body temp does run low, sometimes it got down in the 95’s. Maybe he’s thinking this will jump start the loop. Have to talk to the office tomorrow anyway. Maybe I can get some clarification. Its tough to get explanations that make sense from these doctors sometimes.

Your RT3 is 27.

Your FT3/RT3 ratio= 360/27=13.3.

A ratio under 20 means your thyroid isn’t efficiently getting into your cells.

You are put on T3 to drive down RT3. That is your explanation.

Thanks for that Annon. Makes sense.

Spoke to Dr. Shippens office this morning. Said they have had 2 of us on T3 treatment. Im up to 50 mcgs a day. And, the other guy I guess is even higher. They said neither of us have shown much improvement. I might try to up my dosage a bit since Im still not up to temp. Only thing is it makes me jittery and really ups my anxiety so not sure how much I’ll be able to tolerate.

I quit Fin in March since then my Total Testosterone has gone from - 389 to 587 to 687, 300-1200 range as of last week. This has been without clomid or TRT. Is this pretty much the experience for everyone? Over that time there has been “some” improvement but nothing spectacular. Hoping this trend continues and I can have some more improvement as I get back up near 1000 or 1200.

My testosterone is on the rise but I still feel like shit and an sexually decimated. So, since the T3, clomid didnt work for me I’m thinking about this protocol-

1.Testosterone cypionate - 3 cc’s once every 3 weeks (per Dr. Jacobs)
2. Usual vites- Multi-vite, Vit e, Vit c, vit D3 50,000 iu’s once every 3 days
3. Fish oil daily
4. Calcium D-Glucarante - Brings down e2?
5. HCG daily
6. ZMA- 3 capsules at bedtime
7. Vit b12 injections weekly to bi- weekly (ordered these from online pharma)
8. Wellbutrin
9. Deplin 7.5 mg daily

May mix in Yohombine and Tribulus

Any thoughts?

Boston332,

Your taking so many different things. How do you know whats really working and what’s not quite helping?

You’re like me and a lot of others here. We get so anxious to get better, we think more is better. Did you start some of these and confirm it was working, wait a little while and then work something else in?

I tried HCG and it offered an increase in strenght and well being, but it was incredibily short lived for me. I found it’s effect would only last for about a week or so, then ween. There are alos risks involved with not cycling HCG to the testicles.

I am now trying to slowly work things in, so that I know what helps and what doesn’t.

Tribulus has no hormonal effects

Yea, its hard not to go crazy on the supps. I think I will stick to basics- multi vites, fish oil, etc. Might still keep up with the yomhombine though. Thanks for the info on tribulus , Joe.

Gonna go on wellbutrin xl and TRT. Wonder if I can take TRT along with the low dose Clomid Shippen gave me?

Is there anything you can take with TRT so your native production doesnt shut down and your testicles atrophy?

How are you taking your vitamin d? Oral or injection

Oral. 50,000 iu’s every 3 days. Says 12,500% of daily recommended dosage. Sometimes I’ll sneak in 2000 iu tab with fishoil here and there.

Gonna try some b12 injections though. I have zero energy anymore.

You should ask jacobs if you can get a vit d injection, it might be more effective.

Thats not a bad idea. I’ll email his nurse practioner and ask her for some. She was supposed to mail me some Depo T shots weeks ago and I havnt gotten those yet.

I’m probably one of the few people to actually practically fully recover from Fin.

I was on clomid 50 mg 2 doses 3 times a week and after about I week I actually got worse but then after about 3 weeks I started feeling better, at 8-10 weeks I felt better than I had ever felt in a long time.

It was exactly from the day one week later that it got really bad. I had a massive collapse, I missed an entire week of work and got in trouble because of it. The weeks between 1-2 felt like a damn war was being waged inside of me. I was all over the place. I was pretty week a couple weeks afterwards but slowly started to get better, and that was the last crash I have had since quitting Fin. I used to have them every month but I haven’t had one since or been close to having one.

I don’t know if the 50,000 Vitamin D I was taking once every week helped as well but I imagine it did.

I was taking synthroid for about a month and it did help me intially during that time, however I felt it was too much and even after lowering the dosage by half it still felt like too much so I just quit.

My test results even showed that my thyroid returned to normal somehow, my doctor can’t explain that because it did show my immune system was attacking my thyroid. My guess is that synthroid stimulated my thyroid into action, it’s just a guess though.

I continue to get better, my semen quality continues to improve. I have tredmenous sensation during ejaculations and I also ejaculate a lot of semen, and it’s become very thick. Not watery thin like it was when I was on fin.

I think the only way we can really recover is if we try to shock our body back into action again.

After 8 weeks on Clomid my T levels increased by a factor of about 10.

My Testosterone, Total: before Clomid was barely over 100, after 8 weeks it was 1170, Range:250-1100
Testosterone, Free Percent: Was 1.08, after 8 weeks went to 2.58, Range: 1.5-2.2
Free Testosterone: 33.8 before clomid and then 295.9 after 8 weeks, Range 35-155

I’ve halved the dose of clomid on my doctors recomendation, I’ll get a heart attack with that level of T and believe it or not my condition has improved since halving it as in my erections are very good.

I also think maybe our pituitary or our testicles need some kind of a boost to get going again, kind of like a defibrillator, but instead of it being for the heart we need it for the testicles.

So far my Total Testosterone has gone from 389 in March to 687 a couple weeks ago , 300-1200. The 687 was baseline lab just before clomid, t3. Im hoping it continues up. I think its gonna take 1100-1200 before I feel anything.

Added andractim gel to my routine. Started it last night. So far it has definately reduced the pain I was feeling in my penis. Veins dont seem as prominant either. Also, penis feels a little warmer since using it. Dont think it has done anything at all for the shrinkage though. Very minor if anything. I actually think its working better than the testosterone drops that Shippen gave me to put on it. Way too early to tell and could develop tolerance to it shortly, but so far so good.

Which bloodtests does Shippen conduct? Does he hit all the major categories (3 adiol, test, free test, LH, SHBG, prolactin estradiol, etc.)?
