Boston Globe Alludes to Propecia as Miracle Drug...

In a January 4 Boston Globe story titled “Five things you should know about Robert Leonard,” reporter Priyanka Dayal McCluskey says of the hair-transplant doc:

“[He] doesn’t just talk the talk. Like many of his patients, he takes Propecia, a pill that treats baldness. He had a hair transplant four years ago, and another in August, to thicken his hairline. He turned to trusted colleagues to work on his dark coif.”

Please leave a comment telling Ms. McCluskey that it’s irresponsible for her to cite a medical professional touting finasteride without mentioning any of the drug’s risks:

Thanks.

OK, it was early this morning when I posted this. So just bumping it up, as these types of awareness campaigns are very important. One by one we can educate members of the media and doctors – which may be a slow process, but it’s better than nothing.

Plus, Merck counts on people NOT doing this.

So let’s do it!
