Body composition

Guys,

I just want to know if anyone has found a way to exercise to better the ‘feminine’ physique gained after stopping fin. I go to the gym five times a week, work abs and obliques every day, do sprint training and i still have a horrible body composition. I could take a photo but I’m actually embarrassed. This didn’t occur within the first month, more so has developed over the past two months. My upper body (shoulders, arms) are pretty toned and have a low percentage of body fat (although they are starting to get muscle wastage, fml), but my chest is beginning to get soft and droop even though I train the shit out of it. And then there’s my mid section, one of the most absurd things I’ve seen. You can basically see my abs and my stomach is pretty flat, but my hips are ridiculously fat and have huge love handles. HOW THE FUCK IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Can anyone recommend anything for chest/hip fat? I mean it’s pretty secondary as you could say I’m still in the eye of the storm at this point, but it’s just baffling.

Cheers

This is a very good topic to raise. I ended up with waist that is curved inwards permanently like a woman’s, like a guitar shape, with womanly hips. This is no exaggeration. It happened because I took my drug when my body was still developing. I deliberately wear very loose shirts only, so that people can’t see. Get shirts that don’t hug the sides of your body and that come down somewhat over your backside. This helps to conceal your hips if they are wide like a woman’s.

When I gain fat it always goes onto my inner thighs and ass. I specifically do exercises to try to try to lessen the effect of this, to try and keep the areas toned back. There is a good machine in some gyms, where can target these areas. The thigh abduction/adduction machine. Some people online say it is useless but it seems to help. Also, use squats and lunges. I also use moderate cardio.

It would be helpful to try to build the upper half so that this is the main focus, visually, when people look at you This way it would balance out the lower/mid half. However I don’t know enough of the science, if it is possible to burn fat in the lower/mid half whilst building muscle for the upper half.

the best way to get rid of fat is steady exercise for long periods, exercise too hard and all you’ll burn is the energy stored in your muscles, jog or cycle for an hour or so,also you cant spot reduce fat, what i mean is it doesnt matter how many situps you do its not gonna burn the fat from your stomache or from your legs and ass by doing loads of squats etc, steady exercise for long periods with a low carb low fat diet is the way to go to burn fat but eat plenty protein to keep that muscle on,also to get the best from your weights only hit each body part once a week, then they’ve got a whole week to repair and grow before you hit them again, the eating is more important than the training, regular meals, mainly protein, low carb, low fat, cant fail…

This is good exercise advice, better than mine. Low-carb diet is important.

Cheers robbo, I’d say my diet/exercise regime is on pretty on point to begin with, I do push, pull then legs, and cardio every session. Ill change to slow cycling or something, I just can’t believe my body shape. Broad shoulders, good arms (if I don’t say so myself), big chest, then body slopes like its going into a good v, then BAM! Fucking muffin top. I just don’t get how I can have a pretty flat stomach, then muffin top. Anyone understand this?

I think it’s estrogen that causes you to store fat on your thigh/hips and that makes it difficult to get rid of. You could try lowering your estrogen, although the results of doing so have had mixed results in terms of other symptoms so just be aware of that.

Squats,dead-lifts and any other type of compound movement is best for getting a testosterone response from exercise in my opinion. That’s what I have done over the last six months, and it seems to have melted a lot of the stubborn fat I gained after stopping fin.

Dude if you want to eliminate the feminine features caused by fin you need to train like a man. You MUST focus on your heavy compound lifts including Deadlift, back/front squat, bench press, military press, and rows. Limit your aerobic cardio and focus mainly on anaerobic cardio. Sprinting is good but tough to stay committed to. Since quitting fin nearly 3 years ago, I joined a rugby and hockey league and use these two sports as my only form of cardio. About 1.5 years ago I began bodybuilding and power lifting aggressively. My body has COMPLETELY changed. My friends compliment me all the time and girls notice me. Whenever friends I have not seen in a long time see me they always say how big I’ve gotten. I recently competed in my first amateur Bodybuilding competition and power-lifting competition. I went from 165 lbs to 180. My Bench went from 185 to 325, Squat went from
250 to 375 and deadlift went from 275 to 425.

Do what I did, give this forum a break. Make an account a bodybuilding.com forums and start training like a man. Although I still feel my physique has been hindered by the drug, my confidence regarding my body is 100%. Honestly, last summer I swear I only wore a shirt a few times.

There is no downside to getting jacked as fuaark. My sleep, sexual function, cognitive abilities have all improved since I made these changes. Fitness is now the center of my life and has become my career. I’m saying this because I want everybody who’s body has been feminized by this drug to know that they can reverse this.
If you have any questions regarding the workout routines/supps i used just fire me a pm.

Great advice, however finsteride has killed my strength, but I’m trying as hard as possible. Do you ever feel really tired after training?(totally wiped out?)

Seconded to everyone here. I used to be very lean, to the point where I could eat whatever I wanted. But after taking Propecia, obviously changed my diet completely and eat raw, exercise frequently: cardio, running, aerobic, weights, bike, punching bag. But my body shape changed considerably only after Propecia, and remains exactly the same. The biggest change is the love handles, I have curved hips now and don’t like just wearing a t-shirt now to be honest. Gained fat in hips, chest (gyno), butt, thighs. Been working on weight, am still 10 lbs heavier than prior to taking fin. But lost 15 lbs from changed diet, exercise in the past year. Hoping to lose 10 more lbs. but do not see body shape changing back to normal anytime soon.

It’s like there is a layer of fat in specific regions (lower stomach, lower back around kidney area, and around nipple) that does not go away no matter how much you work on it.

Yes, I do not have the same endurance in exercising as I did prior to finasteride. Used to be able to lift more, do more pushups, etc. Now, have less endurance and strength and am trying to push myself/build up to things, but constant heart palpitations and feeling winded easily, gets in the way at points.

My advice: water fasting seems to solve this problem. Check out the water fast threads.

I thought the same but I’ve always ended up in half day brain fog and extreme fatigue after long vigorous exercises (probably because my estrogen dominant body converts the T gained through training into E2 easily). Although I’ve gained at most 10-15 kilos of fat evenly distributed it stick to my body in a girly-style. I have a very athletic body composition anyway, I’m a “long” guy with wide shoulders quite tight hip. Even when I’m extremely thick the muscles on my chest are very pronounced and my nipples normally look downwards so I almost can’t see them if I look down. The hair loss drugs have changed this. I’ve gained fat to the bottom of my chest and 2-3 times more fat into my armpits! As a result my nipples started to look forward in a slightly bitchy manner. Fortunately this was only fat/pseudo-gyno and not so pronounced although I noticed it even through t-shirts. I could get rid only half of this fat even with low-calorie diet and vigorous excercises in about 3 months. Currently I’m on a water fast and this is the end of day 5. There is no more fat on my chest and my nipples are looking down again (and this is only day 5!), there is only a very tiny amount of fat left in my armpits. Water fast seems to be an extremely good and easy to use tool to reduce body fat.

That’s probably true. I have high prl and e2. I was on hcg and quinagolide for months and quinagolide zeroed out my prl while surprisingly the high dose hcg shots have lowered my e2 (contrary to what usually happens with ppl using hcg: elevated e2). I received only a few high dose hcg shots and then just keeping my prl down with quinagolide kept my e2 too in mid-range. About 1,5-2 months ago I’ve stopped quinagolide too and about a week ago I’ve done a blood test. My prl and e2 are above the top range (about 1.5 x top-range) but I havent yet lost any improvement I gained during my medication-aided months. My thyroid is still OK, my LH and FSH are stable just like while on quinagolide and my erection quality hasn’t dropped. I attributed my cold and constantly shrank/insensitive penis syndrome to high E2 but it definitely isn’t the direct result of E2 as my current test shows the highest E2 I’ve ever had and my penis is quite OK. There is much more going on here than a simple hormone imbalance. I will be curious about the difference between this blood test and the one I will do after my water fasting. If I lose all my fat then it reduces aromatization considerably and water fasting has potential to put the endocrine system too into a resting balanced state. This may improve my high prl and e2 a lot…

Note that I’ve done a lot of blood tests in the past. Initially all my hormones were completely fucked. Now only prl, e2, and SHGG are high and I have a bit low dhea and sub-range D3. A few times I masturbated at morning 0.5-1 hour before the blood test just out of curiosity. The most important result was elevated T (20-25/27 but much more elevated/spiking above-range E2 and almost top range SHBG) and if I finished it (by coming) then my prl was also much higher (2-3 x top range). On rare occasions my T was quite low (13/27) but in these cases my E2 was also lower and in these cases my SHBG was always in about normal range (30-40). I’m over more than 50 blood tests in the last year and the only thing that was constant is my T/SHBG ratio (free T index): it has ALWAYS been 30-33 without any exception despite the fact that my main sex hormones have fluctated a lot between tests. Unfortunately I haven’t found any real free T measurement in labs here but my guess is that my free T sucks, hence the low libido. I think this may have something to do with my extremely good ability to convert T to E2 because in this case if I have high T then my E2 is also high and E2 is very potent in increasing SHBG. To me it seems that there is a clear correlation between E2 and SHBG so high E2 and high SHBG are hands in hands just like their result: low free-T and bad T/E. My hope is that losing fat/crappy-tissues/crap-stored-here-and-there with fasting help me in lowering my aromatization, this would have potential in lowering my E2 and decreasing my SHBG at the same time that would be a double-whammy against my low free-T and crappy T/E ratio. And who knows what kind of crap has been built up in my current excess tissues and fat tissues while I was on hair loss durgs… Its better to get rid of them.

With medicatios I could regain my strength but even the most vigorous exercises and low calorie diets were useless to get rid of fatty patches. I became estrogen dominant and I seem to convert T to E2 very easily. If you have the same symptoms as I have then forget about long and vigorous exercises because they suck a lot. Either vigorous or a bit longer but not both, and definitely not very long. To me the acceptable amount was at most half hour of vigorous exercise and 1-1.5 hour long moderate exercise.
