Blood Test Results & Update

I’m still here so I’m still suffering from PFS. For several months now I’ve experienced an increasingly uncomfortable ache in my penis which is becoming the biggest issue for me, aside from the hit I’ve taken to my libido.

I had a blood test taken which returned the following information. Can anybody interpret it? I realise it’s not a comprehensive test, but are there any clues at all?

Prolactin 399 mIU/L (0-450)
Testosterone 20.6 nmol/L (9-25)
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin 19 nmol/L (15-48)
Calculated Free Testosterone 589 pmol/L (215-760)

A member of this forum suggested that the pain might be due to nerve inflammation, and recommended I look into corticosteroids, more specifically methylprednisilone. Has anyone got experience with this?

I really want to resolve my pain first and foremost, so any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Looks really healthy mate, most on here do not have normal free testosterone levels.

Prolactin looks a little high, and that can effect sexual performance. I’d suggest trying a low dose of Selegiline as it will decrease it without adversely effecting other hormones.

Pain is obviously a major concern and really there’s no-one on here that can tell you whats causing that. You need to see a urologist and stress how much it’s bothering you. Maybe exaggerate the severity of it to ensure they take you seriously, as doctors are prone to ignore anything they can pass off as a minor issue. Push them for intensive testing and perhaps an ultrasound. It could be varicoceles, which are enlarged veins.

Hey dannyfc, thanks for the message. It’s stuff like this that gives me hope that I’ll get through this. I did notice the high prolactin myself, so I’ll definitely look into Selegiline.

Got an urologist appointment in early May and I can’t see the pain going away, so I’ll definitely make it clear how bad it is. It’s the truth really. I will be seeing my sexual health doc in a few weeks too, so I might ask if she can do anything to speed up the process, because another month or so of this seems unbearable. It’s constant.

The pain is becoming unbearable …
