Best statistics about recovery of potency?

Hi, I’m hoping the veteran members can provide some succinct statistics about recovery of potency.

I am quite fortunate that I have recovered full potency after 2.5 years of 100% impotency caused by F/PFS.

First let me quickly summarize my (somewhat unusual) relevant history:

  • I religiously took 1 mg daily of F beginning in 1998.
  • Balding stopped 100%.
  • I immediately experienced partial impotence, no spontaneous erections, had to take Viagra/Cialis before intercourse. But I could masturbate normally.
  • I got tired of partial impotence so I discontinued F for 6 months in 2002 with no PFS symptoms. However, the partial impotence continued so I resumed taking F daily for the next 13 years.
  • By mid-2014 I had not had a GF in 5 years. When I finally landed a GF, I could not get an erection immediately prior to intercourse even after taking V or C. This may have been due to nervousness/exhaustion. I could easily get and keep an erection for 1hr+ during foreplay.
  • To hopefully solve the situation, I again discontinued F in Dec 2014. I immediately suffered horrific PFS symptoms. First, I was 100% impotent, penis felt rubbery and was totally unresponsive. I also began growing breasts, my facial hair stopped growing, my eye skin area turned pitch black, and I felt intense pain in the tip of my penis.
-All the above secondary PFS symptoms resolved permanently after 2 months. As far as I knew I was still permanently 100% impotent. My memories are somewhat vague, but my penis continued to feel rubbery. However, I had ceased to attempt to masturbate, watch erotic videos, etc bc I had been told PFS impotence was 100% irreversible.
  • By 2017 my libido had fully recovered but I never attempted to masturbate and I never got erections from erotic thoughts. I rarely got “morning wood” unresponsive erections.
  • In Feb 2017 the Mayo Clinic recommended a steroid treatment program to relieve crippling dizziness/loss of fine motor skills/loss of walking ability. So I was infused (into my bloodstream) with 5,000 mg of methylprednisolone administered over 5 hours over 5 days. Nothing beneficial happened so I received no further steroid treatments.
  • In August 2017 I watched an erotic video for the first time since PFS hit me. To my shock and surprise I got a very weak/soft erection and a very weak orgasm. The next day I discovered I was 100% potent again, could easily get erections and masturbate.
  • This only lasted 3 weeks until I began to experienced horrific dizziness/drunkenness in the brain. I went to the hospital for five days but they could not help me. Additionally, my libido dropped to zero and I felt 100% impotent again. I could not masturbate and didn’t want to try bc of acute dizziness.
  • Fortunately, the dizziness 75% resolved after 1 month and I recovered full potency again two weeks ago.

So my Qs are:
(1) What % of PFS victims have recovered full potency? Is full potency recovery extraordinarily rare? (There are only 8 recoveries detailed in the Recovery sub-forum.)
(2) What % of PFS victims have recovered partial potency, i.e. generally unresponsive but occasional erections/masturbation?
(3) How long has recovery typically taken?

To end on a lighter note:

Hopefully, we’ll ALL recover potency!

It has been a little over 7 years since I stopped taking a saw palmetto and flower pollen combination. My erections have been somewhat borderline. I can have sex but not in all positions - woman on top is a problem. I have not had any morning wood, no spontaneous erections, and I lost a lot of sensation in my penis. (among other problems)

Somewhere between 3-5 weeks ago, I woke up with a strong erection - the kind that makes peeing after waking up difficult. I have had some spontaneous erections, regained some sensation in my penis, strong erections, morning wood every day, and I have been dreaming a lot more.

In the last seven years, I have had a few times short periods (about 3 weeks) where I gained the ability to have some sexual gratification. But I have never gained strong erections and recovered sensitivity like this. Since this was the first time in 7 years I thought I might be out of the woods on these symptoms. Unfortunately, I have slowly lost those improvements.

It may have nothing to do with it, but I had lost about 6 pounds in 3 weeks and I was entering into a period of maintenance level calories when this happened. I have lost weight in the past and not had any improvement. Diets can really have an effect on me since gaining pfs like symptoms. I go from sleeping 7 hours a day to sleeping 5 hours a day while eating a calorie deficit and while trying to maintain that weight. Also, my low libido goes down to 0, and I can get a pretty morose mood. So maybe it stimulated a temporary improvement somehow.

I hold a little hope that my story can end like yours.

Hi how are you doing at the moment.

The “sexual plumbing” has worked normally since August 2017, I encourage you to try methyl steroids too. See my other posts for more details about m.s,
