here is your answer but remember Mitch attributes his recovery to Isocort which at the time when Mitch used was being made from animals adrenal glands (or you can say it was a glandular) but for about a year or two it is being made from synthetic or plant sources. If you google a lot of people are complaining Isocort is not working the way it used to. This is why Isocort was very popular years back. If you plan to use Adrenal glandular look for which is being made from New Zealand animals.

I started in early 1999 and didnt start getting sides until later in 2000 I believe, its such a blur now when I think about it. years past and I was in a fog dealing with such a nightmare. Went to so many doctors with absolutely no success. I got to the conclusion that if I was going to get better I needed to do this myself. I tried so many different approaches and there were times when I did feel better and tried to relate what I was doing at the time I had these moments of feeling better. I did try accupuncture which helped but it was expensive but the woman doing this did say that my adrenals were wiped out along with my thyroid. At first I thought she was full of shit but I started eating better to help these two factors. With time I was able to figure out a diet which helped me. I stayed away from soy, very bad for the thyroid. Sugar, also bad for the adrenals. Alcohol. DId mild exercise etc.
During this time I had my ups and downs. WHen I had my downs I sat down and tried to figure out what I did to make myself feel like crap again. Usually I started drinking coffee again, alcohol. ONce I started feeling better I usually " fell off the wagon" and had to back track and get on target again.
I finally figured out in 2003 or so that it was fin that was screwing me up. Up until then I didnt know what the fuck was wrong with me. I thought brain tumor, depression, insanity. I didnt know anymore. It was a very bad time.
It took me a few years to get to this point. There is no magic bullet unfortunately.
I think what delayed my recovery was that my work was very physical and I really burned myself out and could not allow my adrenals to recover nor my thyroid. I did start taking armour thyroid, a natural thyroid from bovine or pigs, I cant remember. I took this and I noticed a big improvement but with time, not right away.
I dont take it anymore so I do believe one can recover without having to take meds or other things forever.
Id say by 2007 I was at a good point of my recovery and Im able to maintain my health now.
I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

I started taking 1gr. which is 60mgs in the morning every day for a few months but never took cortisol at the same time which I think hindered my recovery somewhat. Either way I do believe my diet helped my adrenals recover. I did this for about a year then I tapered it down when I started feeling better. I took it every other day then tapered it down from there as well until I felt i was doing fine without it all together. Hope this helps.

as far as my recovery goes, it took timeā¦and time and lots of patience and luck. I tried so many different things. One of the few things that helped me was I started taking armour thyroid and also a supplement for my adrenals. This was the only thing that helped me. I was too paranoid to start trying anything else like TRT etc. I do have a few posts here on what I went through and my recovery in more detail.

mitch how did u figure it was ur thyroid and adrenals? did ur bloods show this?
At the time I was trying everything, I was desperate. I even tried anti depressants, that was a big mistake. Anyway, at some point I had my thyroid tested and according to the doctor I was slightly hypo but also around the same time they revised the numbers determining ānormalā thyroid and hypo. I fell in the hypo catagory. I didnt want to take synthetic thyroid meds so I did some search and saw success with armour thyroid. It seemed to help withing a week or so but then it tapered off. I did more search and saw info about the adrenals so I figured I would try boosting my adrenals. While searching the web I saw lots of info concerning adrenal burnout etc. I fit into so many of the symptoms.
Youve got to understand, I was battlign this nightmare from propecia for years, trying so many things and nothing worked. When I started using the thyroid and adrenal supplements and noticed an improvement with my brain fog etc I literally cried. I could finally see a light at the end of this nightmare.
It took time but with change in diet, no meat, more fish, veggies and these supplements I started getting better, better erections, more sex drive, no brain fog, able to concentrate etc.
I look back at those years and consider them ālostā years of my life. I was alive but in a dream state, not really there etc.
Im trying to remember the adrenal supplements but cant right now. I will look for them and post when I find them.

How did you recover Mitch? Did it just take time or did you try different meds? How long did it take you to recover since your last pill?
I think my last pill was in 2001 but not sure but it took a few years to recover, its all such a blur and a nightmare to think about. I went to so many doctors only to be told it was all in my head etc. Very frustrating. I did accupuncture which helped with some of the symptoms.
My recovery wouldve taken less time if I knew how to treat it but I had to self treat, experiment etc.

I cant remember what meds the doctors wanted to put me on but it was the typical synthetic thyroid drugā¦it may have been levoxyl. Anyway, the synthetic meds only replaced t4 and there are a lot of horror stories out there, typical internet of course, but I choose armour becuase it had both thyroid t4 adn t3 I believe. Anyway, it worked for me as well as the isocort and now, I dont have to take either anymore so there you have it

I tapered armour and isocort slowly over time, I think I gradually did this over a year. I did try TRT once, I felt great for about 2 weeks but the more I read about testosterone treatment the more I saw it as a temp. treatment that would probably lead to more problems.
I didnt have access to much more since the doctors saw me as a nutcase and wouldnt even consider that MAYBE I was suffering from adverse affects from propecia. I had to self treat, experiment etc.
Ad far as armour went like I said, at first I felt great but it tapered off and I was right back where I started but I read more and more about adrenal problems and how the thyroid couldnt function right unless the adrenals were ok. Thats when I looked into different treatmenst for the adrenals and I came up with isocort. It did take time and I was scared to try it because it seemed evertime I tried something my body was so overly sensitive to meds, supplements etc that I would over react to whatever I would take. I was a nightmare. But in time and determination it started to help and here I am, years later Im feeling good.

Mitch, did you ever have libido problems?
If so can you tell me how this came back online? Was it all in one go or was it a gradual thing?
Also what drugs do you think were responsible for bringing it back online?
Hi, sorry about that.
I did have libido problems, erections were so so, never really hard, semi soft or not at all. I had a testosteron shot once and my libido went through the roof for a week or so but it tapered off again. I did continue with the TRT.
I was too paranoid to start experimenting with more drugs. It seemed everytime I tried something it had adverse effects and it would take weeks to return to my ānormalā state again.
With time and I believe the armour, isocort, exercise, change in diet and a lot of hope it is now fine and back to my old self.
Hope this helps.

I had horrible brain fog 23/7
It let up at one point for a day then returned. I remember how happy I was when it lifted but was devistated when it came back soon.
I was constantly tired. Hypersensitve to any meds, supplements foods etc
The brain fog seemed to lift not long after I started on armour and isocort
