Perhaps this has already been discussed and I just missed the terminology. As it says below, this is just a term for a group of symptoms with many causes and many of these symptoms cross reference with PFS sufferers on this board. Exercpt below is edited for easier reading. Obviously not all of the symptoms fit however as I read it I found a grouping of some distinct symptoms that many PFS sufferers have including impotence. As we know finasteride inhibits potent neurosteriods and nerve damage is a possible conclusion.
It might be that PFS induces a specific type of autonomic neuropathy issue. It’s a difficult concept to establish.
That said, I’m imagining that, correct me if im wrong on this, that people with such issues would experience quite a few of that list of changes and not just one or two? My issues are entirely sexual so it’s difficult to reconcile. I mean, true nervous system/nerve damage should create a myraid of problems; although who said this isn’t complicated.
Agreed.
A lot of these symptoms are on the Profile list for the member stories. Many members have reported them.
I was diagnosed with neuropathy specifically of the pudendal nerve. I am awaiting a follow up appt with a specialist in neuropathy. I wish more guys would get tested for this type of thing since it seems to be a major factor, especially with sensory problems. See my ssep thread for more info on my tests. I believe some of three other pfs docs will begin this type of testing.
Do you have further information or resources about getting tested you can share?
Doesnt doctor Triash think that that the nerves that were dependent on dht are damaged.
Check put this thread for more info. I am in the process of investigating the diagnosis which still may be a false positive but I don’t expect it will be. From my understanding, some neuropathies are treatable and some are not so I perhaps find some closure for the near future, good or bad.
